One change to last week's meal plan - I didn't have enough potatoes left to make mash for the fish pie topping so that's moved to this week.  Instead we had ys sea bass fillets from the freezer.  This week's plan is:

Sat (today) - h/m celery & bacon soup with cheese twists, ham sandwich, cherry pie & custard
Sun - Cooked sliced beef (from freezer), mash, swede - will make mini Yorkies
Mon - Thai green chicken curry, boiled rice
Tue - Cooked gammon slices (from freezer), egg, chips
Wed - Fish pie, peas, sweetcorn
Thur - Chilli, jacket potato and whatever veg is left in the fridge
Fri - yet to be decided

Soup of the week will be spicy carrot & red lentil and there should be enough chicken left to make either a chicken & leek bake or some pasties.
Be kind to others and to yourself too.

  • Very late this week as away at the weekend. Does make for a short plan and another small shopping list though 🙃

Mon - pork stroganoff, noodles, broccoli
    Tues - beans on toast
Wed - tuna and broccoli pesto pasta
Thurs - Thai chicken and broccoli curry, rice
Fri - creamy leeks and beans, salmon

Only need one portion of soup this week and there’s one in the freezer so all good. There are a couple of sad looking carrots that I might need to turn into soup before the week is out…

The week’s plan went to pot when I spotted an ox kidney and a packet of prawns on reduction so the spanakopita is still in the freezer and I made prawn curry instead of puttanesca.  This week is a short week as I’m going away for several days, so need to avoid buying anything and use up what I’ve got.

steak, sweet potato wedges, mushrooms, spinach, egg, raspberries, blueberries and kefir
puttanesca, spinach, pasta, dessert tbc x2
ox kidney in chili sauce, rice, dessert tbc x2

  • Plan and shopping list done last night but forgot to post. Soup made one evening as the carrots were getting sadder by the minute so Thai spiced carrot and lentil this week. Wonder if we’re getting to the end of soup season 🤔

Sat - out to eat 😋
Sun - chicken, chorizo and new potato traybake with green beans
Mon - chicken and chorizo jambalaya, green beans
Tues - LO jambalaya, green veg
Wed - prawn and sugar snap egg fried rice
Thurs - creamy leek and mushroom pasta, green veg
Fri - chipotle steak and new potato hash, green veg

    Sorry for the stereo silence.

I'll be honest I've been winging it, or buying reductions so haven't really done a strict meal plan.

This week will be along the lines of ....

    Lentil Bolognese
    Pitta and salad
Leftover chickpea and spinach jalfrezi with potato
Kyiv, onion rings or chips, peas and corn
    Something featuring jackfruit
    Sausage, mash,.broccoli, green beans

Need to think of one more meal!
