I've just found a microwave recipe for biryani online which I'm going to try tonight. I usually just boil up the veg with some spices; cook the rice and then line a bowl with rice; put in the spiced veg and cover with more rice before tipping on the plate. This recipe looks really easy. Will report back later but having said that I'd be interested in the SC version too.

A long week done! Meal plan and shopping list finalised this morning:
Sat - scampi, chips and peas (treat tea with Strictly 😉)
Sun - sweet potato, chorizo and spinach traybake
Mon - egg and mushrooms on toast (getting lunch at work event)
Tues - beans on toast
Wed - hoisin tuna steak, noodles, stir fried veg
Thurs - naan bread pizza, coleslaw
Fri - sausage, leek and mushroom pasta
Will roast some butternut squash for packed lunch salads while the oven is on for the traybake. Will also make soup from the parsnips leftover from the root veg stew. I hate waste 🙃2 -
I’m using up stuff before I go on my hols. And still have sausages left from last week. So, in no particular order
…
sausage, sweet potato wedges, baby sweetcorn and peas; plum clafoutis
stuffed focaccia, tomato salad x 2, plums and yogourt
spinach and ricotta lasagne, pineapple and yogourt
spaghetti bolognese, rest of the plum clafoutis
spaghetti bolognese, pineapple and yogourt
There will be at least two portions of bolognese sauce for the freezer and I will have left over ricotta so will try freezing that too.
I’ve bought too much fruit, so breakfast will be variations on overnight oats and fruit.3 -
Swapped two night's meals around last week but other than that all went according to plan.
This week:
Sat - Beef curry fakeaway, lime pickle and naans (lazy TV dinner)
Sun - Roast pork with all the trimmings
Mon - Cold pork cuts with chips & pickles
Tue - Sausage, mash & veg
Wed - Fishcakes & spicy wedges
Thu - Some kind of chicken meal (maybe stir fry, sweet & sour or butter chicken)
Fri - Pork & mushroom pasta
I'll need to make soup at some point this week as freezer stocks are getting low, probably spicy carrot & red lentil.Be kind to others and to yourself too.2 -

I'll post my menu now, but it's very basic this week. Still trying to buy as little as possible, and using up leftovers when I can.
Monday was an Oriental Concoction using some YS beansprouts
Last night DD2 came for tea, so we had her current favourite :Cajun tofu with broccoli and cashew cheese pasta
Today: I have skipped breakfast and had a massive portion of kale, red cabbage, beansprouts and peppers with a zesty dressing on. So tonight wil be Harira that I made Monday, with a bread roll.
Tomorrow is Hash brown pizza or Harira
Friday: GD here, so will be her Friday fave of hot dog, peas and noodles. I will have hot dog in a bun, as I have to be in the mood for packet noodles. DD2 will be here again also; but she will miss evening meal as she will arrive late, and DD1 is not staying to eat.
Saturday: Probably any leftovers or something quick tbc
Sunday: Also tbc, depending on what I have Saturday.
