I used to meal plan religiously, and have got out of the habit. With the cost of living going up, I have got to start again, without delay
I shall be doing this every week from now
Here are my next seven days1. Sausage Casserole
2. Pesto Pasta
3. Quorn Roast
4. Cottage pie
5. Curry
6. Pasta bake
7. Hotdogs
With love, POSR5 -
Meal plan went out of the window this week as we went away for the weekend in the motorhome. So this week meals will. be:
S - sausage cassoulet
M - lamb shanks, pots, veg
T - keema curry, rice
W - burger, onions, chips, beans
T - mixed bean goulash, rice
F - meatloaf, pots, veg
S - chana masala, rice
3 -
Didn’t bother with a meal plan last week as was only here for a few days so just made sure everything was used up before going away. Back today and a normal week ahead so quick plan and shop done:
Sun - salmon, new potatoes, veg, creamy pesto sauce
Mon - gammon and mushroom pasta
Tues - beans on toast
Wed - prawn egg fried rice
Thurs - chorizo and courgette gnocchi
Fri - TBA, whatever needs using up2 -
We're going away next week so I took advantage of the free Gousto boxes earlier in the month and ordered one to go along with my using everything up mentality, which will hopefully reduce waste!
M - Chicken curry and rice
T - Bolognese from the freezer with pasta
W - Veggie goulash with potato cakes
T - Chilli from the freezer with rice
F - Tortellini with a mixed veg sauce
S - Frozen pizza and HM potato wedges
Lunches will be salads until the fresh stuff is gone and then we'll be on beans / egg on toast territory.

Happy Monday meal planners.
Rubber gammon this week. We may get fed up with it so I'll freeze the extras and do something different. So far it's looking like this:- Gammon and pineapple, new potatoes, cauli/broccoli cheese
- HM tomato / gammon quiche, new potatoes, salad
- Spaghetti carbonara, salad
- HM Swedish style meatballs, creamy sauce, mash, roast tomatoes, peas
- Chickpea, chorizo and tomato spicy rice bake
- Salmon, roast veg with cous-cous
- Yellow split pea and ham (ie the gammon
) soup, crusty bread
Starting to get a glut of tomatoes so I'll roast a few trays and incorporate them into dishes, maybe make soup for the freezer.
I'll make the bread, quiche and a cake in the one oven session. Still deciding whether to make a fruit loaf or carrot and date cake. Both of those are good for portioning and freezing - saves scoffing too much
Have a good week everyone.2 -
Not sure of the order we will be eating these meals, as I can’t get anyone to help make a meal plan with me so I’m making them up now for the thread
I do keep asking the kids and husband to help because all I seem to hear is what’s for tea? What can I have to eat? When are we having tea? Etc etc
Today- we had unstuffed peppers, using defrosted beef burgers and a big bag of rice I’d defrosted.
Tomorrow- a sort of vegetable biryani, using the rest of the rice
Wednesday- minted lamb kebabs and noodles and veg
Thursday- Sandwich and salad, as I’m taking the kids school shopping, they’ll probably have McDonald’s or something for lunch.
Friday- fish, chips and beans
Saturday- Unsure
Sunday- Freezer, kids will have frozen hotpot and dumplings, we will have Chinese ribs.
Usually have more veg meals but got a few meat items from olio last week so will be using those. I wish I had the health and energy to be more creative but both are lacking at the moment.2 -

Lablabi is not on the menu.
Yesterday : Sausage roll and chips (literally had no appetite, and no beans to go with it. Now bought)
Goan curry with rice
Pizza (on Chipotle flat breads from Aldi)
Oriental (use up sauce in fridge)
Moroccan stew (freezer)
Roasted veg, pasta and pesto
Something with mince
Reserve meals of: Oriental bits - spring rolls, bao buns, prawn crackers, prawn toast that's sort of thing (all vegan)
Picnic type meal, out somewhere, if the weather is nice
DD1 has asked me to babysit, and DD2 is also coming for the weekend, so could go awry 😂
I didn't babysit, that was put off till this weekend.
1)Roasted veg will move forward.
2) Bibimbap
3) Mayflower curry and noodles
4) Chicken bake, broccoli, peas and chips
5)Picnic type meal/ Hotdog in bun, onion rings and corn on the cob
6)Meatballs in sauce
7)Dan Dan noodles

This is the recipe it's based on but I will use any rice I have on hand and add other veg like carrots and celery. Frozen butternut squash means you can miss out the roasting the squash part. It's a forgiving recipe that can be tweaked with whatever you have in - it still works out well.3 -
