@JIL - I use a recipe for making falafel which uses soaked dried chickpeas which get blended raw along with the rest of the ingredients and have to say they make far better falafel than when I've made them with tinned ones, so I wouldn't be concerned about using raw chickpeas.
My plan for this week:
S - pork steak tray bake
M - Lamb hotpot (meat and veg from freezer), green veg
T - Spag bol (from freezer)
W - BBQ pulled pork in roll, chips, corn on the cob
T - stuffed pork fillet wrapped in parma ham, new potatoes, veg
F - Fakeaway KFC, chips, corn on the cob, beans
S - Beef curry, rice

Morning all. Never really know what to plan for hot weather so have tried to keep it simple plus using things up that didn't get used up last week!
M - Salmon, potato gratin, green veg (was on plan for last week and got moved)
T - Out for a free meal (very long story)
W - Pulled pork nachos
Th - Salmon rice bowl
F - Moussaka
S - HM Pizza
Lunches are egg on toast today (using the last eggs up) and then the rest of the week are tofu ramen bowls because I really enjoyed them last week and the only thing I have to pick up is the tofu 👍Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20172 -
It’s a bit to warm for my liking, so meal plan has been made whilst knowing it will probably go out of the window this week
Monday- beans on toast/ super noodle sandwich/ microwave meal
Tuesday- slow cooker bacon hash
Wednesday- plant kievs and noodles
Thursday- slow cooker chilli with flat breads
Friday- feta pasta
Saturday- unstuffed peppers in slow cooker
Sunday- sons choice as it’s his birthday 🥳

I did plan and shop based on the weather (including lunches for office days). However, all plans including being out for lunch yesterday derailed by testing positive for covid yesterday morning 🙄
So, here’s my vague plan from today:
Mon - chorizo, new potato and egg salad
Tues - pan fried cod, French style lentils and roasted peppers
Wed - burger, salad, coleslaw, new potatoes
Thurs - chorizo and green bean fried rice
Fri - whatever is leftover in the fridge or pasta probably 😂
Hoping I get a negative test before the end of the week 🤞2 -
K9sandFelines said:So, dependant on the weather; and in no particular order this week, is going to be something like the following:
Tonight Hoisin and Cashew stir fry with noodles
Pasta pesto and meatballs
Katsu bake chips and broccoli
Chilli and wild rice
Savoury lentils with mash and carrots
Burger and onion rings with sweetcorn
Vegan Jambalaya
Just enough In to last the week, bar a few bits. The freezer is on the bare bones now
I havent made a solid plan yet, but so far it has been :
Mon: Jackfruit 'tuna' pasta mayo
Tues:Sweet chilli and rice
Then something along the lines of:
Mayflower curry and chips
Coronation jackfruit and jacket potatoe
Vegan Jambalaya
Savoury lentils with mash/or cubed potatoes and carrots and greens beans
Kyiv, rice, corn and peas
Subject to change, according to what is in/what the weather is like 😏

Kept pretty much to the plan last week. I haven’t meal planned this seriously since tough times when the children were younger, but it is definitely helping enormously with the budget.
So this week - out one day so only 6 main meals to find:
plaice fillet and stir fry veg
spIcy mackerel and coconut stir fry
mediterranean veg tart and salad x 2
bacon and lettuce risotto x 2
2 -
salad, salad and more salad. just changing the protein, fish, meat, eggs.Do I need it or just want it.1
