Have now done my meal plan up to the end of July!  I've now got a huge shopping list for early next week!  That's the trouble with running down the freezer before a holiday.  Still at least once it's done it should only be fresh stuff that's needed each week.

  • Just one change this week - salmon salad became salmon, new potatoes, asparagus and green beans. Was a bit saladed out 😂

Shopping this afternoon so meal plan done:

Sat - sausage and fennel pasta
    Sun - steak nicoise salad
Mon - prawn Thai curry, sugar snap peas and noodles
    Tues - beans on toast
Wed - halloumi and pesto orzo
Thurs - chicken, cannellini bean and leek traybake
Fri - scampi, chips and peas

    T - Goat curry, rice
F - Fakeaway KFC, chips, beans, corn on the cob
S - Lamb hotpot (from freezer), green veg

  • It’s going to be another week of minimal shopping for us so meals are almost everything we have in already. Breakfast is wheat biscuits, puddings are orange cake and banana loaf that I’ve made today.

    Tuesday
Lunch- egg Mayo and cucumber sandwich
    Dinner- Bean chilli

    Wednesday-
LUnch- Tuna and sweet corn sandwich
    Dinner- sweet and sour

    Thursday
    Lunch- pizza baguette
    Dinner- bacon, egg and beans

    Friday
    Lucnh- pizza baguette
Dinner- freezer (whatever is in there)

    Saturday- Chana masala

Have a good week everyone 😊

Picked up a couple of TGTG bags so now have quite a lot of veg and noodles to use up so going to have to change the week's meal plan to use it up.

Have decided that tomorrow night will be beef stirfry which will use up some of the veg plus a bag of noodles; the other bag has been frozen for later.

Will need to change quite a planned meals although will mostly be breakfasts and lunches so nothing I'll post on here.

One night will need to change to mushroom stroganoff to use up the 2 boxes of mushrooms I got but not sure which night yet.  The bag of noodles I've frozen will be used with the salmon dish which was already planned rather than using dried ones.

Once I've finalised it I'll come back and post but probably won't be until tomorrow!

I've also adjusted this week's meal plan based on olio / freezer and cupboards as I'm trying sooooo hard to come in under my grocery budget this month

Monday - sausages which were excess for this weekend's bbq, olio mash and olio sprouts, carrots and parsnips from freezer (a bit wintery but low cost)

tuesday tuna salad (lots of salad left over from bbq) with olio new potatoes

wednesday - eating out - have saved our eating out budget for a treat at the seaside

Thursday - courgette, tomato (both olio) pasta with mozzarella - there's a jar of pasta sauce in the cupboard too

friday - Caribbean chicken curry with rice n peas

    saturday - home made pizza

have a good week fellow meal planners

Aiming for a cheap month so it’s going to be using up what’s in the cupboard/fridge/freezer.

    In no particular order:
    pasta puttanesca
    Fish risotto
    Mushroom risotto
    chicken thighs and veg
    Mediterranean veg tart x2
    pork curry x2

desserts will be fresh fruit and when I’m using the oven I’ll make gooseberry and/or blackberry and apple crumble.

    Morning, Monday again  :)

This week is likely to change, may have visitors (who may or may not want to stay for dinner) and may have to have an overnight for work. Though there's plenty in the freezer and cupboards to mix it up or let the OH "rummage" as he calls it.

    • Mince and tatties, carrots and broccoli
    • Baked potato, tuna and sweetcorn, salad
    • Burgers, wedges, salad and side bits
    • Beef and broccoli stir fry, rice
    • Mackerel, new potatoes, salad
    • Pasta dish  - thinking carbonara, salad
    • Curry night – dhal, bombay potato type thing with cauliflower and peas (dry type curry), rice etc

Lunches are the usual salad sandwiches / rolls and I'm going to make a light carrot and tomato for as a mug-soup.

Starting to get a few strawberries from the garden now, though they're not great this year but I will need to pick up some other fruit in my top up shop later today. Keeping off the cakes and baking for now.

    Have a lovely week everyone.

meal plan from today,  just realised got no salmon and no courgettes  so tomorrow will be adapted. Have switched Friday and Tuesday as will have courgettes by Friday, although I was trying to avoid cauli 2 days running.
Just noticed I have made an error, it`s smoked haddock and leek risotto.
Do I need it or just want it.
