Adidas threatening letter

Good point. The letter from DWF actually says 'Our client confirms that whilst the refunds were processed, they have not had the original order items returned.'user1977 said:
I was going to point out that it's not clear from the letter that Adidas are claiming no parcel has been received by them, but the dispute may be whether it contained the relevant items. But if it's not clear how or when the returned goods "got lost", what constitutes evidence that the consumer sent those goods back? Is just a certificate of posting sufficient?
I can understand why they are taking legal action.1 -
I would focus on trying to get a tracking number to tie this up.smartypants1902 said:No, no post office receipt I am afraid. We are not concerned though as we have a confirmation or receipt email from adidas. I suspect it’s an error.
IME Adidas use RM Tracked so you should have tracking details if you get the tracking number.
Just makes it easier to say delivered on X day and X time.
IIRC Adidas use RMs returns warehouse at the NDC which is a massive operation.

That's not going to help though as they say they have received a parcel, just the trainers were not in it.custardy said:

It does seem extremely unlikely they have gone straight to this point with no previous correspondence.1 -
Was it just a pair of trainers?Ath_Wat said:

Not clear whether the £1200 is the value of goods or also includes charges associated with the debt collection0 -
The letter states it's "the total refund value for the items not returned". I don't see how they could bung on any additional costs before going to court.Grumpy_chap said:

Make sure you have saved a screendump of the tracking information showing that the item was delivered.

To the OP, do you know what was actually in the package you returned, does the size and weight reflect what you think should have been in there?0

So, not just a pair of trainers.user1977 said:

OP - what was originally purchased and what was returned?
Was it a partial return?1 -
