With wholesale gas prices at their lowest level since November 2021, we want to know what fixed energy deals you're being offered by your current provider.

There are very few fixed deals available to new customers on the market, and those that are tend to be pricey. Yet sometimes we do hear of short-lived 'existing customer only' deals from certain firms that can be competitive. These deals aren't available on comparison sites, making them hard to keep track of.

Is there a good one out there that fellow MoneySavers might be missing out on?

Let us know the name of the tariff and the name of the supplier.
I am with Utilita on the Smart Energy tariff, I am being charged 51.50p Electric & 20.746p Gas for the 1st 2 KWH per day! This is double the daily standing charge on British Gas. Utilita claim they do not have a standing but this charge is above ( or i believe it to be above) the price cap but i cant change provider because no companies are taking on new customers. Not sure what i can do i am stuck! :(
Not sure if anyone mentioned it but you
can phone octopus and become a new customer on a standard variable tariff, no need to fix. It should almost certainly be cheaper than what you pay now. I did something similar in February.

Just been offered a fix with British Gas to the end of May 23; I’m in North West region with Electricity only.

    ... Any thoughts appreciated!
If it's the "Exclusive fix May23 V1" then MSE think it's probably worth punt:
Thanks @QrizB that link was a great help. I’ve taken the fix - 17% increase now versus potential 32% increase over winter seems worth a shot.

If you read the thread, you'll have seen pochase calculate that Utilita's tariff isn't any more expensive than the SVT. It's just that Utilita load the daily standing charge onto the first two kWh rather than charging it separately.

Does anyone know which suppliers still issue monthly bills, but allow a fixed monthly direct debit, currently been moved to British Gas and they apparently cant comprehend this request...
I’d be interested too, as British Gas ensured I well overpaid on my Direct Debits each month and it took me months to contact them to eventually reduce my payments to a realistic amount.

Been offered this from edf, which despite the massive exit fees, I’m minded to take as it’s not a huge rise from the SVR I’m on with Shell.

    @tdw197

The electricity unit rate is very good on a fix but the gas rate is 70% higher than the capped rate!!!

You will have to do your sums on how much gas you use as this could be very bad for gas central heating come this winter.

Quick fag packet calculation the above suggests approx14000 kWh gas a year.

Current cap rate gas (7.25p kWh average) £1114 including standing charge

The fix offered to you £1791.25

It’s fixed for 2 years which appeals to me and offers a cheap night rate once I can sort out my SMETS1 meter for my car.

But yes the gas price is a big issue.. I need to switch so I can get a cheap night rate but struggling to find anything.

@tdw197 so what night rate are EDF offering you on that deal?

Have you research Octopus go they will take on new customers with an EV. 7.5p kWh between 00:30-04:30am for charging.
