There are very few fixed deals available to new customers on the market, and those that are tend to be pricey. Yet sometimes we do hear of short-lived 'existing customer only' deals from certain firms that can be competitive. These deals aren't available on comparison sites, making them hard to keep track of.
Is there a good one out there that fellow MoneySavers might be missing out on?
Let us know the name of the tariff and the name of the supplier.
can phone octopus and become a new customer on a standard variable tariff, no need to fix. It should almost certainly be cheaper than what you pay now. I did something similar in February.

Just been offered a fix with British Gas to the end of May 23; I’m in North West region with Electricity only.
... Any thoughts appreciated!If it's the "Exclusive fix May23 V1" then MSE think it's probably worth punt:1 -

This is double the daily standing charge on British Gas. Utilita claim they do not have a standing but this charge is above ( or i believe it to be above) the price cap but i cant change provider because no companies are taking on new customers. Not sure what i can do i am stuck!If you read the thread, you'll have seen pochase calculate that Utilita's tariff isn't any more expensive than the SVT. It's just that Utilita load the daily standing charge onto the first two kWh rather than charging it separately.Chelski_Blue said:QrizB said:Chelski_Blue said:

Been offered this from edf, which despite the massive exit fees, I’m minded to take as it’s not a huge rise from the SVR I’m on with Shell.0

@tdw197
The electricity unit rate is very good on a fix but the gas rate is 70% higher than the capped rate!!!
You will have to do your sums on how much gas you use as this could be very bad for gas central heating come this winter.
Quick fag packet calculation the above suggests approx14000 kWh gas a year.
Current cap rate gas (7.25p kWh average) £1114 including standing charge
The fix offered to you £1791.25
