  • Scottish Power - Oxfordshire - single fuel tariff.
Seems higher than most other "OFFERS" on the thread - village doesn't have gas so guess I'm getting penalised for that?

    "Green Flexi May 2023"

    47.61p x unit rate (Gas)
    43.39 standing rate
    £150 exit fee

    Tarrif ends May 2023

What is the "body it 9 characters too short - no matter how much I type about?"
  • Just been offered a fix with British Gas to the end of May 23; I’m in North West region with Electricity only.

Currently on the below having been ported from People’s Energy:

    Unit rate 28.021p per kWh

    Standing charge 42.242p per day

    New fix is:

    Unit rate 32.849p per kWh

    Standing charge 49.091p per kWh

I make that ~17% more expensive based on my annual usage of 7411kWh. From Martin’s latest YouTube video that sounds an attractive increase, but still somewhat unsure given then the increase will apply immediately - October seems a long way away. Any thoughts appreciated!

Welcome to the forum.  You need to check the exit fee, some of them have become horrendous.

    Thanks @Gerry1

£75 exit fee on the fix, or free to another BG tariff which doesn't sound too bad.

    @Chelski_Blue

How much electricity do you use in the summer months til October 1st?

We use max 25% so if that is the same for you I make that 1852 kWh where you are paying 4.828p extra per kWh so that's an extra £82.41 plus the difference in dail standing charge to put it in money terms.

    I'd say worth a shot.

@gregory77 there have always been regional variations like there are for the price cap. Nothing sinister.

As an example look at the difference in the following deemed price capped rates for EDF per area

Different rates in different areas.  (The energy cap is different in different areas too.)

If it's the "Exclusive fix May23 V1" then MSE think it's probably worth a punt:
