Have you research Octopus go they will take on new customers with an EV. 7.5p kWh between 00:30-04:30am for charging.
4.5p. Tried octopus but not allowing any new customers.

@tdw197 that's a good date for charging. Yeah Octopus only take on new if you call them not online.

Will they still take you on if you only have electricity at those rates as they a really screwing you on the gas rate.

Hmm, actually rather sneakily they’ve quoted me the price without the cheap night rate. Full tarrif is here.

Still might make sense as we have solar panels which covers most day time use.

Sounds like you have a handle on your usage and how you would get the best from any fix or rates offered👍

Well that's probably the best electricity deal out there.

Might be worth reading the following post and doing some research on them as a company

As I'm a total geek and log all my energy consumption I ran some numbers. If I charge the car at least an average of 13Kwh per day then it makes sense to switch to EDF's Go35 tariff. Makes even more sense if we can switch other energy users to 0-5am usage too.

Washing machine, tumble dryer maybe even investigate charging a battery for 5 hours to use cheaper energy during the day if you already have one with your solar solution even better.

Use electricity to heat your water tank instead of gas during those hours (lots of things to think about and cost out)
