Thanks chums for all your good wishes I shot into Aldi's as I had to pick up some library books as well this morning and bought a couple of packs of their Nordpak soft spread butter as I'm sure it will be dearer by the time I come home
As my freezer is empty now I also got a pack of chicken thighs which were only £2.19 for 7 so they have been wrapped and frozen for when I come home and a large pack of cheddar cheese long dated to September so I won't have to rush to the shops when I come home as I will bring fresh salad, veg, etc back with me.
Just waiting for the hairdresser to arrive then the last of the packing to go into the car ,all topped up with fuel £1.90.7 a litre now gone up yet againThats £8.67 a gallon !!!!
It was 4/3d when I started drivingAh well at least once I'm there I don't drive very far

I used to spend my teenage years in the Isle of Wight. My friend had a holiday home near to Freshwater beach. It is lovely there.:)1

Reading some of the OT posts here and people arriving from other regions and prices, we had family from the midlands and one of them went into the chip shop with me when we all liked a bit of chip shop chips etc, The guy nearly collapsed when the bill came to almost 70 quid, lol. He said outside the shop that in Bradford it 30 tops3

Went into L1d1 today. Jam has gone up to 79p. It was fifty something not long ago. Mind you, to offset that, I did buy 2 of the £1.50 fruit and veg boxes for myself and a friend. I did ask if it was alright to have 2 and was told that it was OK. There were about 8 left, so plenty for others. There was so much stuff that we shared it with my friend's daughter and daughter in law. So £3.00has helped feed 4 families for the next week. I can forgive them for the jam.😊6

Nearly eveything in my tesco online shop "favourites" list has gone up by 10 or 20p this week, things are going to start getting very difficuilt for a lot of people soon.We are a car less couple right now,and trying to stay that way! so it is much cheaper to pay for delivery than it is to taxi somewhere,so i just have to absorb the costs elsewhere.4

Kaylataste - Spot on re the favourites list - either prices are increasing or things are often out of stock and the suggested alternatives are always much more expensive. I've been tracking the prices of the things I buy most often (not the occasional "one off" items) and am looking at an increase of £6+ for these over just the last month.
We're another car-less household and also find it cheaper to pay for delivery than for taxis. After much deliberation, in February I paid in advance for an annual mid-week delivery pass at a cost of £40. I have fortnightly deliveries (but can have one every day if I want - not happening) so after 10 deliveries (£4 each) any subsequent deliveries are free. It might not be an ideal solution for everyone but it works for us and saves us £64 over the year.
Be kind to others and to yourself too.4 -
I use my tesc vouchers to pay for a six month delivery pass. We don’t eat out, aren’t holidaying or doing theme parks, so it seemed a good use.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?4

Was shocked to see my OH's favourite Kenco decaff coffee in the Coop this morning. Last year I was paying £4 a jar, earlier this year somebody on here kindly pointed me towards Farm Foods who had it at 2 fo £9 so I stocked up, as Tesco where I'd previously been buying it had gone up to £5. Today in the Coop it was £8.09!!!! Stocks are running down so I'll pay particular attention to trying to find it cheaper than that. Unfortunately the Farm Foods isn't local to me, I had to take my car to the garage some distance away and there was one nearby.
