As long as it's got a decent long date on it I'd buy it now. Might even be worth buying extra and freezing as well although I'm not sure how well soft butter freezes as only ever done it with real butter.London_1 said:saw online that Aldi's norpak soft butter is now £2.15 was £1.99 for 250gms. Now dow I buy some before I go on holiday and keep in the fridge or do I wait two weeks and find its gone up to £2.50 ? decisions, decisions

Another thing to watch while prices are jumping up is the value of different sizes. Usually it's better value if you buy a larger size unless there's an offer on, but not always - maybe to do with stock coming in at different times. For example at the moment Heinz spaghetti with sausages at Tesco. 400 grams £1.40; 200 grams 65p.3

I freeze lurpak spreadable and its fine. I always buy a few when it's on offer and put them in the freezer. The one i'm using at the moment is almost 12 months old.

Snap, I did this last year when I spotted some with YS labels in M*rks and have only needed to buy more this April. I think the oil in the spreadable stuff helps keep the texture when you defrost it.Auntycaz said:I freeze lurpak spreadable and its fine. I noticed in M*rks today that ordinary, not organic, 400g tinned chickpeas have gone up from 60p to 70p in the space of a week.3 -
Today, popped into Morries. Their own (Weetabix) brand, 48 wheat biscuits, up from £2.45 to £2 59. Ouch!3

I ordered from Ocado as they gave me £10 off if I spent £60 and I was looking at kitchen roll. There was a four pack of the bigger Plenty kitchen roll for £8.25! Is that a normal price? I went to the local shop near me and bought the cheaper brand (maybe Happy Shopper?) 4 rolls for less than £2.2025 GOALS

It's getting to be. It's £8.25 in ASDA - and Tesco if you don't have a clubcard (£6 if). Went up to £7.30 in Waitrose but on offer for £6 till 12th July. Last time I wanted it I bought a supermarket brand, but I wasn't impressed.Wednesday2000 said:I ordered from Ocado as they gave me £10 off if I spent £60 and I was looking at kitchen roll. However it (Plenty) frequently has an offer on it so might be possible to avoid the higher price most if not all the time. Having said that, £6 was the price I was avoiding not so long ago as it would be on offer for £4.50 quite often.
£6 (normal price till recently) to £8.25 is over 35%.
A 2 roll pack is now £5 in both Tesco and Waitrose!

Wow, I think it is an outrageous price. I know some people on here probably don't use kitchen roll, but with two cats and a dog at home it comes in very handy for me to have.GaleSF63 said:

I do occasionally use kitchen roll but really begrudge the prices so have changed to a cheap one from Sainsburys that (currently) costs 99p for a roll of 240 sheets. Yes, it's thinner than most but it's OK for my needs. And I sometimes cut the sheets in half - I'm such a tight wad!
When I need something a bit sturdier I have a bagful of rags made from worn out T-shirts, towels etc that I can use instead.
Be kind to others and to yourself too.4 -
I also have a huge bag of rags that I use, wash and reuse instead of kitchen roll. If it's a particularly dirty job I just throw them away. I buy supermarket brand kitchen roll and a pack of two lasts us ages.YorksLass said:I do occasionally use kitchen roll but really begrudge the prices so have changed to a cheap one from Sainsburys that (currently) costs 99p for a roll of 240 sheets.
