P.S. Does any know if Barclays run further credit checks before completion ?
I don't believe they do unless there's a material change in your circumstances. I believe they run a hard search when they issue an AIP or when you submit your full application.
They did 2 searches on the 4th of August and nothing since.

Yeah the process is very painful, my conveyances have done as much as they can and are only waiting on this document so we can exchange and complete. So its holding things up

My broker openly told me he hated working with barclays because of their frustrating processes, but they had the best deal for me so he didn't really have a choice. I'm happy he found a great deal for me but unhappy with the painful experience to date.

Hopefully we both get some positive news soon.

I remortgaged from Santander to Barclays and the process was extremely quick.

    30.08.22: Submitted full application
                    Credit search done
                    Valuation approved (online)

03.09.22:  Mortgage Approved offer in post
                     and via email

I applied directly with Barclays via MA, who was great. I should add that I do bank with them so maybe that’s why everything was super quick.

Underwriters do work weekends as well.

    Wow! That super quick!

Barclays are seemingly asking question after question. The most recent relates to solar panels on the house were looking to purchase.

So after all the going back and forth I called up and got through to someone at Barclays who said he would send an email over to the underwriters asking exactly what they needed in order to get this moving, low and behold a few hours later the same agent called me with good news advising they were making the offer for the requested amount. The document was sent over however the new property address is incorrect, it looks like they have merged my present and potential address together so now trying to sort this out.

Offer received today! Here's my updated timeline:

    • 22nd Aug - DIP
    • 22nd Aug - Hard credit search
    • 23rd Aug - Application submitted
    • 23rd Aug - Barclays wanted confirmation of my employment history (past 3 years)
    • 23rd Aug - Employment history provided
    • 24th Aug - Valuation booked (according to Track It)
    • 31st Aug - Chased broker who advised all lenders are on a go-slow and have huge backlogs. Apparently Barclays are 7 working days behind on all applications. SLAs for intermediaries should be 5 working days but with backlogs this is now at least 12 working days.
    • 6th Sept - In-person valuation carried out
    • 7th Sept - Barclays asked if the solar panels on the new house will be owned outright or leased.
    • 7th Sept - Responded to Barclays confirming ownership of solar panels.
    • 15th Sept - Mortgage offered
It seems the biggest delay was booking a valuation and getting it done. A 2nd delay was their response times to the questions I provided answers to.

Either way, one item of stress off my shoulders!

Congratulations, we also had our offer through which was on the 12th however its never straightforward.

The offer has come in the post today and it has the incorrect address for the new property so unsure if its a typo (as its a combination of my present and hopefully new address) or if the broker has made an error. So now we have to get this sorted ...

Oh no! It should be a simple fix especially if everything else looks right.

I noticed that Barclays did a second credit search on the 12th September and this was after offer had been made. It was a soft search and it didn’t present any issues as my credit report is fine. Just thought I would let others know. Congrats on the offers!

First time posting but I wondered if anyone else is having problems seeing their case on Barclays Track It? I am applying via a broker and did not receive a text or email with the track it details.

    Our timeline so far:

    - AIP - 7th September
    - Submitted application - 8th Sept
    - Barclays requested further info via broker - 12 Sept
    - Info sent to Barclays - 12 Sept
