Barclays Mortgage Timeline 2022

Look like everyone get their offer 1-2 days after valuation! Trying to contact my case manager now, they are super slow on any update (Trussle)
Update : case manager confirmed that everything satisfy Barclays, but for some reason the underwriter has to review agreement in principle manually (?). Not sure what that even mean0 -
Thanks everyone for sharing the experience and timeline here. Here's ours and good luck!
27 May, application submitted with MA
6 June, underwriters requested more documents, submitted the same day
10 June, valuation completed (looks like a visit of some sort)
13 June, email saying the offer is on the way

17 May : Application submitted by broker
17 May : Hard searches and soft searches show on credit file
24 May : Request more doc, signed declaration form.
30 May : Request more ID ( passport, as I only provided driving license initially )
1 Jun : Valuation book for 07/06
7 Jun : Valuation
8 Jun : Valuation approved, for some reason Barclays need to review AIP again so it will take long before offer is finalised.
14 Jun : Offer is out in the post.
That was a long battle ( me doing nothing mostly ) !1 -
My experience so far applying via Trinity Financial (with excellent credit score and low LTV):
- 13/05 AIP granted and full application submitted.
- 17/05 Valuation carried out and accepted (found out after the fact, I don't know if Barclays hadn't told broker or broker hadn't told me).
- 24/05 Told documents would be checked by this date at the latest but heard nothing.
- 01/06 Told documents would be checked by this date at the latest but heard nothing.
- 09/06 Told documents would be checked by this date at the latest but heard nothing.
- 10/06 Contacted Barclays via chat because I saw 'Track It' mentioned here (never heard of it). They said timescale is 5 working days and to ask broker to escalate, which I did (but am not clear whether broker did escalate or not). Reply from broker with application number (because I asked for it) and that application signed off by underwriter and passed to KYC team with expected update 14/06.
- 11/06 Contacted Barclays by phone for Track It details and asked if there were any issues with my application but none apparent, although told they normally only discuss with broker not applicant. Track It only showed that the valuation was accepted on 17/05 and again (for some unknown reason) on 07/06.
- 13/06 Email from broker that Barclays had asked for proof of address (obviously supplied in the beginning) and this had been sent off.
- 17/06 Still waiting on an update. Track It still has almost no information (just the valuation dates).
I don't want to pester my broker but I have had to constantly chase to get any information, often not receiving answers to my direct questions (e.g. escalation, the deadlines issued and not adhered to), and it feels like no progress is being made with no reason as to why.
This thread alone confirms that other people are receiving their mortgage offers in shorter timeframes than mine (which is still not finished). I only applied via a broker because I read that they can speed things along (what a joke).
If anyone has any advice as to what I can do to help the situation I would greatly appreciate it.

I applied 9th May as a first time buyer , then on 14th May my broker asked for extra proof of income, which she submitted, since then no change, no soft/ hard search, nothing really ? The seller apparantly has found a chain free property to move into and is mortgage free so pressure us on to pay for searches and survey, feeling the pressure now and broker is taking time to reply to my messages abit at present0

Here is our frustrating mortgage timeline:
23 Feb - application submitted
11 Mar - valuation
18 Mar - EWS1 form requested
20th Apr - EWS1 form received
26 Apr - more documents requested
After much chasing..
1 Jun - mortgage offer issued
Further queries about ground rent & service charge for our leasehold flat...
5 Aug - just about to exchange and Barclays have said they need to reissue the mortgage offer because it's taken so long (as if that's our fault).
Our application took 3 whopping months. After further queries from Barclays and constant chasing, we have now been they need new payslip/bank statement to reissue the offer because so much time has lapsed (absolute joke). Just when I thought we were about to exchange. Our entire sale has taken almost 6 months because Barclays have been dragging their feet every step of the way. Has anyone else had any recent issues with Barclays taking disgustingly long? Absolute joke they are.0 -
An update from our broker - they apparently have a backlog of escalations!
I have absolutely no idea what is going on with them but it seems like an absolute shootshow behind the scenes for them. Barclays have done nothing but delay us throughout our entire purchase, and just as we were about to exchange they throw yet another spanner in the works. Devastated and fuming
