Barclays won’t do
my sons solicitors withdrew the money for the mortgage in October but the sellers weren’t ready to exchange / complete they had to get a HCA form and remove the ground rent from the deeds .
My sons solicitors were aware that there was at least one thing outstanding when they withdrew the mortgage funds as we spoke to them about this .
But because of this they couldn’t do it within 28 days and yesterday Barclays told my son that he had lost his mortgage due to the solicitors starting the process of withdrawing mortgage funds . Even though his mortgage was valid to January once the requesting of funds are requested their is a 28 day deadline .So my son has had to apply at a much higher rate that will cost him over 5 years approx 7500 according to his broker
So he’s gone from 3.6 percent to 5.6 percent over 5 years
The brokers wrote a statement outlining the difference and she also wrote that there would have been no way the solicitors were not aware of this clause as it’s clearly written in the mortgage papers the solicitors get from Barclaysx
we plan to complain and if we don’t get a satisfactory answer and result then go to the ombudsman0 -
When my completion was done, integrar sent the wrong amount of money to the previous mortgage company, I contacted them about the discretion and never received a reply. Spoke to previous mortgage company who said yes they'd sent too much and they'd not been able to get hold of them to return it either. They then transferred it to my account directly. Just a heads up to check figures in case I'm not the only one they've done this to!0
