Phones that are compatible with the Chase App

Your smartphone will need to run iOS 14 and above, or have access to Google Play on Android 8.1 and above. Just so you know, some devices are not supported due to hardware limitations.0

In many cases it's "software limitations" rather than hardware limitations, as the chips are capable but the OS is not.

Android 8.1 is the stated mimimum requirement but Play Store doesn't even show Chase UK app for my Moto G6 Play despite running Android 9. My RAM is 3GB, 1.4Ghz octa-core, believed to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 (SD430) which has 64bit support. What is incompatible about this?

Probably a 32bit OS.Rigormo2 said:Android 8.1 is the stated mimimum requirement but Play Store doesn't even show Chase UK app for my Moto G6 Play despite running Android 9. What if any future updates of the Chase app then cause it be incompatible with your mobile and not start.Could be anything, like a new Android OS minimum.0

Unlikely. It would be good security practice to drop support for versions of Android that are no longer receiving security patches, but in practice I can't see this actually happening (if they were following this they'd already have dropped support for 8.1 and 9 when support ended a few months ago). The restrictions will have been imposed primarily due to the app's need for certain OS features, and the range of supported OS versions at launch. Most apps maintain compatibility over their lifetime. It's possible they will redevelop the app at some point, but it is not a concern for the short-term. It's still one of the newest banking apps to be released. My prediction is that we'll all have moved on to a better deal elsewhere before updates cause new compatibility issues.Asghar said:What if any future updates of the Chase app then cause it be incompatible with your mobile and not start.Could be anything, like a new Android OS minimum.

Yet app-only banks such as Atom, Tandem and Zopa (and the PayPal app) work perfectly and securely on my 'old' (Android 8.0 max) mobile phone.0

Is it possible to use the Chase app on one phone, but for two accounts? By logging in and out? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but my girlfriend's phone is only 8.0 and she can't set up an account.

I don't think so because there is no log in and out option - logging in to the app takes you straight to your account and the app is only going to accept the log-in credentials of the customer who set up the account.ericlered7 said:Is it possible to use the Chase app on one phone, but for two accounts?
