Samsung Galaxy A5  Android 8.0.0 No idea if 32 or 64 bit - how do I tell?
Assumed it would not work but downloaded the App successfully and now get a 'welcome' screen with options to join or log in.

So will this work or will joining waste my time?
You wouldn't normally get this far if you aren't running 64-bit Android (presuming you've installed the Chase UK app). You might yet have a problem if you really are on 8.0.0 as the minimum version is 8.1. You might therefore find that you are asked to upgrade when you start your registration. If your phone is not compatible, you'll find out before doing any of the time-consuming parts of registering.

I almost fell for that with a Motorola Gsomething the other night.......I downloaded the Chase app and thought "that's odd" as I wasn't expecting it to work, before realising it was the US app - the UK app was hidden in Google Play.......in my defence I'd had a few..😉

Looks like you only have 3gb of ram making your phone 32 bit android and not the needed 6e bit android.

If you are suggesting that all phones with less than 4GB RAM run 32-bit Android, then that is a faulty inference. 4GB RAM or more cannot be addressed using 32-bit Android, but phones with less than 4GB RAM can run 64-bit Android. Both of my 64-bit devices have <4GB RAM.

In case anyone's using older iPhones and is wondering if they can run the Chase app...... I use a 2015 iPhone 6s and it has Apple's A9 64-bit chip with 2GB of (LPDDR4) RAM. It's running the Chase app without any problems.

From the Google Play Store install an app called CPU-Z

Launch the app, then in the SYSTEM tab look for the Kernel Architecture. This should tell you if it is 64 or 32 bit.
  • Latest Android Phone with update software I think can be compatible with app as it recently update on 14 april

Yes it can be, it could also not be if it is a 32bit kernel rather than the required 64bit, even if the phone processor itself is capable of 64bit. This is what is causing the problems for many who have in support phones which are proving to not be compatible.

My Samsung A5 (2017), running a maximum update of Android 8.0 is NOT compatible with the Chase UK App.

Android 8.1 is the minimum requirement, I believe.
