no problem with consistent measurements, just that you dont need accuracy to a high degree and therefore a digital scales are not a must have.0 -
Made pizza dough this morning. The dough was quite sticky and quite difficult to handle. Had to put some flour on the table to press out the dough in to a round shape. Then I let the dough rest on the baking tray to prove for 15 minutes.
After the pizza was cooked I could not remove it from the tray. The base of the pizza was firmly stuck to the baking tray.
Anyone had this problem?0 -
I find my pizza bases easier to handle if I stick them in a hot oven for about five minutes before I top them and cook them properly.0

I've found the plastic measuring jug included was acurate OK on the 6 different loafs we have tried so far.0

Hi Bargain888
I also found the pizza dough quite sticky but some extra flour to coat does the trick for me.
Have you tried oiling the baking tray ? I found that worked for me.
I use a pizza stone which I preheat and then scatter some flour on just before i put the rolled out pizza base on to it. The base literally starts to cook as I'm putting the topping on to the pizza and seals the base.0 -
Wow spares are expensive:
Kneeding Blade £14.98 delivered.
Don't even look at the price of the bin, may as well buy a new bread maker.

I think I have just found a bargain breadmaker - Morphy Richards Fastbake 48268 (the most recent one available). Found it on a internet shop called Giddy Aunt reduced from £79.99 to £28.99 - P&P is only £3.50. Link is
http://www.giddyaunt.com/product_inf...ducts_id=11141
Atlantic shop also do the same model for £34.04 but delivery is £7.88
Comet is £49.99 reduced at present and available in store. I really dont think you can beat the offer on the Giddy Aunt website though of £28.99 !! Bargain !! Just bought one.0 -
a couple of ideas: I have had a breadmaker for years although use it rarely as we eat all the bread immediately because we are greedy pigs!
Lakeland sell a grey plastic bread slicing gizmo which is good for getting even slices, you still need a knife to cut it but it holds the loaf and measures the slices for you. Its not cheap though, about £12 I think.
A while back I got a silicon mat from LIDL (about £6 I think); its for rolling out pastry or dough. Tried it over Christmas with bread dough from the machine, liberally floured the silicon and it didnt stick at all. Also good for pastry plus instead of scrubbing at the table you can port it to the sink for a good wash.
