Is anyone else finding that their loaves turn out damp? I am using packet mixes & made 3 loaves. For every single one, each time I have cut a slice right after cooking, a lot of steam comes out & the loaf is damp :(

Have you tried leaving it to stand for a while before cutting it? I thought they needed to cool/dry out for a while first? I've left all of mine for 15 mins before cutting and haven't had any problems.

roses i would reduce the water by 20ml, also give it 10 mins to cool! that shud do the trick, failing that add some bran about a tablespoon, will give it flavour and possibly texture

    hth

p.s. tried the pizza dough last night, added some olives, sesame seeds and bits of cubed cheese once dough was done, topped it, shaped it and popped it in the oven- simply divine!

i better stop experimenting as soon i feel i might not get into my regular petite clothes!!

    enjoy everyone!

    Just my experience.

I'm presently using up the ASDA flour before starting on a dearer one (Allinsons) but not found the bread to be very light. I am using packet yeast BTW.

Water content def too high so dropped that a little. Was not bad on small loaf but large is def too heavy. Will try Allinsons White flour next. THEN on to the Allinsons wholemeal.

Dying to cook current bread or hot cross buns. Love it.:)

Also, being bone idle I am posting this link for more reipes without trawling thru to see if it has already been posted. Appologies if this is a repeat. Hopefully it'll be of use in return for the help offered on these

ASDA's (cheap blue bag) strong white flower seems to work perfectly so far. Making malted granary now.

    Hi Roses

You need to let the loaf rest for 15 - 20 minutes before you cut into it.

Also be careful about leaving it sitting in the breadmaker after its finished as the steam condenses making the bread soggy.

    please do share recipes

Hi, if you search the forums using the search tool above there are loads of recipes and tips from the times the Panasonic has been mentioned, going back to 2005.

A good one to look for is chocolate bread, then spread it with blackcurrant jam. ;)

Best so far, bacon & onion, naan bread and pizza dough. Daily use (of my 255) for half brown half white which lasts about 20 mins in house ;)
  • Hi

Try the Foccacia dough recipe it's delicious with lots of garlic, rosemary, olive oil and salt on top.

The dough also freezes well if you want to make some in advance.
