Dazco - Thanks for offering your spare breadmaker here. I'm on my second basic white loaf as the first one barely had time to cool. I think I'll have a go at ciabatta next. My house smells wonderful - fresh bread and a "Christmas Cookie" fragrance Yankee Candle.

Well I've just checked HDNL's website which shows that the parcel was left on the doorstep on Mon 17th - I'm really annoyed as I had the item delivered to my aunties address as I knew that she would be home. The website says it was delivered at 16.07 and I absolutley know my auntie was home and lights etc would be on. There would be NO reason to leave it on the doorstep of a busy terraced street. Idiots!

Anyone know how I go about complaining/reporting item not received?

    Thanks
I HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH HDNL WHEN THE SAID A PARCEL WAS DELIVERED FROM AMAZON AND I STLL HAVEN'T RECEIVED IT. LUCKILY SENT ME ANOTHER ONE FREE OF CHARGE VIA ROYAL MAIL AND THAT CAME WITHIN 2 DAYS. MAKES YOU WONDER HOW TRUST WORTHY THE DELIVERY MEN ARE THAT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY

Thank you to OP for the tip. A bit late in the day, but e-mailed for a refund today. Breadmaker bought at the end of November at £67.99. Although the price has gone back up to £59.99, at least I got an £8.00 refund (confirmation email received this evening from Amazon).

Annoyed that I didn't spot the post when the price was £39.99, but still nice to get some money back.

Just looking forward to some nice bread now.

    Thanks again.

  • I have made fab white bread in mine but tried to make pizza dough on saturday and the result was a type of stodgy wallpaper paste?! I followed the recipe exactly as it said, so could someone who has had success with their pizza dough please post exactly what they put in and did so I can see what I did wrong or whether it's the machine?
    Thanks so much!

To be fair to Amazon they have emailed me back and said that they will send me a replacement item, so we'll see if this gets delivered.

TBH I think that the delivery man had prob got too much to deliver and wants to get home early and finished so prob cuts corners on his route. Doesn't help the customer at all, especially at this time of year. Luckily the item was for me and not intended as a present, but I was looking forward to freshly made bread on christmas morning. Never mind!
Nice Shoes & Expensive Designer Handbags, are my downfall!

use the basic bread dough setting , takes 2h 20 mins but gives a better result .. you can leave it to rise for longer if you wish - maybe an extra hour after the program has ended - up to you - in the bread machine.

    1 tsp yeast
    400g strong white flour
    half tsp salt
    1 tsp baking powder
    1 tsp sugar
    2 tbsp milk
    2 tbsp olive oil
    220 ml water

hand work the dough to around 1 cm or so in the middle (more will tend to leave it doughy) .. a bit more at the edges for best results . cook around 200 C (i think thats around gas mark 4 around 20 mins or cooked to your taste. use 'dry' ingredients .. ie not wet as this will release the water and prevents the dough cooking properly

some people like to part bake it before adding the ingredients on top. just experiment to get it working best for you .

HDN just leave parcels outside, marks and spencer use these. They left my box by the bins, lucky I saw it!
    Kind Regards
