    Here we are on a money saving forum, trying to scrimp and save to make/buy the cheapest possible presents for our friends and family, yet at the same time, here we are, ready to give away lots of fivers/tenners and cool presents to random people in our lives such as postmen.

    <snip>

    :confused:

    We are not all here for that reason, some of us just want to get *the best value for our money* and for that reason I am more then happy to tip when I get good service.

    Tell you what, send a bunch of firemen round my place and I'll let you know :rotfl:

    Hee hee me too :D

    But i meant, if they saved your life, or helped you out by just doing their job -would you give them a fiver?

  • We've given £5 to our paper delivery girl, because she always has a smile and a wave.

    We've given £10 to our postman.

    We haven't given anything to the milkman. We don't see him - he delivers at about 4.30 am! We don't even see him to pay him - he leaves a bill which then gets paid by monthly direct debit.

    No, I'd give them a hell of a lot more then a fiver if they saved my life to be honest :D

    Same for any other emergency services that performed something similar, but I wouldn't wait till Christmas for there's as I would be hoping I wouldn't need them on a regular basis.

    We used to leave the tip rolled up in a piece of paper in the top of the bottle. I'd happily tip if we had a milkman that we didn't see cause he was so early, rather then cause he comes so late :rotfl:

    Thanks for the answer - was just curious :)
