You can set the default to a debit card, you do have to specifically setup the debit card as a funding source though.masonic said:
However, if you've completed bank funding at Paypal then Paypal will default to collecting the payment via Direct Debit instead of using your debit card. This can be overridden, but you would need to do this on the Paypal confirmation screen.
There is no way to know that the card and direct debit go to the same account, so there is no sneaky "we'll take this debit card payment using direct debit instead"

They are good for a spare direct debit if you need to meet some requirement (lloyds/natwest/rbs) etcwiseonesomeofthetime said:
Hence why I do not link bank accounts to PayPal.

Good to know, it's been a long time since I used Paypal to pay for anything. When the bank transfer method was first introduced, Paypal set it as an unchangeable default when available due to the relatively high price of card transactions and this persisted for quite a long time, despite the cost of card transactions falling significantly.phillw said:

This may have been answered in previous 58 pages so apologies if so...Now I've had my account up and running a month, couple of things occurred to me.The round-up balance with 5% interest. I'm assuming the 5% is paid on the balance showing in that 'pot' (got 1p his month !) so if you 'moved' the money to 'spending' account it wouldn't be earning the 5%? I'm not that desperate but wondered how you actually accessed that money if so.Similar with the cashback, I can see my cashback building up but does it at some point materialise in your account?0

If you move money out of the round up account it will stop earning interest, and you can't transfer it back. Cashback can be transferred whenever you like, there is no benefit to leaving it there.RedImp_2 said:This may have been answered in previous 58 pages so apologies if so...Now I've had my account up and running a month, couple of things occurred to me.The round-up balance with 5% interest. Don't forget that like Regular Savers the money in the round up account that has been there longest will earn the most so unless you are desperate for the cash (unlikely given the sums involved) you are better off leaving it there for the year

I tried to withdraw cash at the local post office today from my Chase spending account with my Chase debit card. The post office card reader would not recognise the card - even though I have been using it in most shops with no problems. The teller said that its probably because its not a proper debit card - eg he said the likes of monzo etc are also not recognised by the post office card readers. Has anyone else had this issue? It seems a bit strange. I have raised a query with support via the Chase App, but was wondering if anyone else had this issue also?0

Neither Monzo or Chase have a contract with the Post Office to access their banking services.gizz_10 said:I tried to withdraw cash at the local post office today from my Chase spending account with my Chase debit card.
