    Hi all,
Just went through the chase app to open an account, not too bad a process, took a while to get pics right lol.
Now says the checking info and could take 24hrs to process......
How long does it take to get the account setup and how long to receive card etc?
I didn't see anywhere where I could say what name I wanted on the card i.e not have my middle name printed on the card for example.

First ever app based bank account...
FWIW, my card came with my name as "Firstname Lastname", no middle names. I don't remember being given a choice. The ID verification process is normally just a few minutes - and you may need a few tries to pass it. Once verified, you can get into the app straight away and obtain your virtual debit card details. Physical card takes a week or two to arrive.

Yes, I had to try 2 or 3 times with the pictures and driving licence.

My account was open in about an hour. The email to verify my email address was timed at 11:15 and my first deposit was timed at 11:40.

I like that every transaction has a time stamp as well as the date.

I do not recall choosing to supress my middle names but my debit card just has my first and surname.

The card arrived in the post about 3 working days after the account was opened online. The envelope was a smart blue stiff cardboard one. Someone posted an image on an early post on this thread.

Edit. Can't find the image on this thread but it was somewhere on this site.

    Hi All,

Just catching up on sorting out my savings acount. Currently have some money with Marcus (less than 85k) - is there any reason to keep it there - or should I just move to Chase?

Quite simply no, move it to chase that’s what I’ve done. Much better rate.
I got just over £100 in interest on the 1st of this month.
Im holding out for a 1 or 2 year fixed deal, as the boe should be raising it rate tomorrow I’m waiting to see.

Do you need to keep any money in the current account or can that remain £0 and just have some money in the savings account?

    Thanks

One and two year fixed term accounts already pay quite a bit more than Chase. There is speculation of a 0.5% increase tomorrow, although that seems a little strong to me at this point.

A zero balance is ok if you don't want to spend from the account. If you want to use your debit card, you'll need to maintain a sufficient balance for your spending, perhaps a little more to cover pre-authorisations.
