Ha ha…just opened my card and to be fair to you, the instructions under the card do ambiguously suggest you need to physically tap the card when you open the app. I’m not activating mine as I only wanted the savings account, but should I do so in future at least I now know what to do.infoadict said:Just a heads up if you are a numpty like me.To activate the card, you open the app and tap the blue Chase logo on the top of the home screen. Not tap the physical card to your phone like I kept doing (as my phone has NFC)Plus you can then go into "See Details" and it gives your 16 digit card number, expiry date and CVV numbers, so presumably you can pay for online transactions.1 -
Beginner here. How do I withdraw money from the Savings Account with Chase? I eventually will wish to do this, but cannot find anywhere to enter details of my main bank account (First Direct) to send the withdrawal to. Many thanks.0

You move it to your Chase bank account, same way you transferred to savings then add new Payee with your FD details and withdraw to it.1 -
I added my external current account with the Chase current account and it was then available for direct withdrawals from the Chase saver to my external current account.vernon said:Beginner here. If you haven't yet added any payees, you do this by clicking payments, payees new +2 -
You can do that but you don't have to. You can make payments, including future dated payments and Standing Orders, directly from the savings account (or from any of the savings accounts, if you have multiple ones). Your payees are 'global', i.e. you only have to set up up a payee once, and it is then available to use from all your Chase accounts.Futuristic said:vernon said:Beginner here. I was surprised that the card details page allowed me to do a screenshot. Many bank and financial pages block this function somewhere in their code. Useful thing for me to have, but now there’s a full set of my card details being archived somewhere in Google’s servers 😬infoadict said:Just a heads up if you are a numpty like me.To activate the card, you open the app and tap the blue Chase logo on the top of the home screen. If that is an issue for you, block your card, report it as stolen and request a new one.Archie_Duke said:

I’m not that paranoid, at all. If I try to take a screenshot of my First Direct card details a pop-up appears saying that action is not permitted. We all know how Google Photos can pop up a search result from just a word or a phrase that you once took a snap of. Just thought it was a mildly interesting point.Daliah said:

Preventing other apps drawing over a banking app is one I would be happy to accept for the obvious implications. However, the use case here is presumably that someone couldn't quickly grab your phone and screenshot and share your card details. It does not stop you or anyone else from taking a photo of the phone screen with another device, nor does it prevent you from writing down or saving the details in a document on your phone. So it seems to fall under what is known as "security theatre", giving the impression of security without sufficient substance. In the age of Strong Customer Authentication, and with such a large number of card details being breached by other means, it would probably be a pragmatic view that the risk associated with this activity is not particularly high.Worth also remembering that the card details displayed in app are actually a virtual card linked to your physical card, which has its own different card number (check receipts showing partial card details from contactless/C&P transactions using your physical card). Therefore, the physical card probably wouldn't need to be replaced in order to get a new card number in app.
