I suspect they're not particularly interested in supporting 32bit hardware given it's such a small percentage of the market.Thumbs_Up said:I have 5 other banking apps no problems, i did speak to Chase support didn't really get a cognative answer other then '' it seems your phone is not supported'' The software coders should be burning the midnight oil to get this fixed.3 -

While the chipset may support it, the rest of the phone may not, or the manufacturer may have chosen to only use 32 version of Android.
You can check the Android version using an app called CPU-Z.
In the System tab check Kernel Architecture.
It is very unlikely a new app is going to 'back ported' to 32 bit.
I suspect that 32 bit Android mobiles are a few % of devices at most.1 -
Nearly gave up trying to install app.First it told me my phone was rooted, and app couldn't be used on a rooted phone. However my phone isn't and has never been rooted.I turned off developer options, and tried again, and it no longer complained.Secondly it seems very picky on the selfie, it took about 6 goes to get it to work, not sure its becausethe id photo was nine years old. However app seems to be ok, its sometime a bit slow on my phone which is quite old. However I like the ability to setup future payments from the saving account, and also (unlike out-dated banks - hbos brands) it allow multiple future payments to the same payee.0

Side question, is there clarity on whether the 1% cashback counts as savings interest (i.e. is it taxable)?
Most other accounts advertising cashback are not taxed however HMRC can be inconsistent on this.0 -
I haven't seen any iPhone users complaining so there's your answer, get an iPhone. And before anybody assumes I have one ........... yes I do and have had no problems with Chase whatsoever.0

I guess it could be seen as a discount on a purchase. When you get a 5% discount from Currys because there is a promotion, do you consider than taxable?dcs34 said:Side question, is there clarity on whether the 1% cashback counts as savings interest (i.e. is it taxable)?

My own experience opening a Chase current account and savings account, on a Samsung S10 phone (so a few generations behind).
- Downloaded the app
- Entered a few details (name, address etc.)
- Took picture of my passport
- Took a selphie
- App says some verification was required and it might take up to 1 hour (I guess couldn't match both pictures automatically)
- 3 minutes later, received a SMS that the verification was complete
- Could log on the app and activate biometric login in (fingerprint)
- Could create the savings account instantly
- Made a transfer from First Direct to the current account, worked fine, money appeared right away
- Virtual Mastercard card was added to Google Pay right away

I suspect building a website that any device can use, old or new, will probably be more of a priority indeed.razord said:
