We've been stoozing for a while. Quite a lot was money transfers and some was balance transfers to pay the "spending card".
We pay off our spending card in full every month (unless doing a BT), I wouldn't have the discipline to stooze on every day spending and put the money aside.1 -
Day off today before procedure tomorrow. Should be doing things like meal prep but have spent about two hours working and am now dying my hair. Ho hum, it needed doing and won't be able to dor a while.
OH wanted to buy an engine - not one which is needed but is rare so will never be available again 🙄 - but we are currently £3k in debt when comparing savings to stoozed debt so I've said no. Feel really mean but we can't justify getting into more debt for a want.
He's not used to not being to buy what he wants when he wants as he's never struggled financially. He's currently trying to find ways to make the money needed which is rather annoying - if he can make money, it should go towards getting us back into the black! Just needed to get that off my chest!

OH is not a fan of FB so asked me not to share there so going to share here instead.
Three weeks ago yesterday there was a post about a kitten who had sadly been knocked down locally and two other kittens who were running across a road. Went to see if we could find them and three hours later had caught these two kitties, no sign of mum.
Full of cat flu, underweight, estimated five weeks old at the time. (Excuse the state of the spare room!)
Three weeks of good food, medication and supplements to help their immune systems they had first vaccines yesterday. Little Man is so happy and contented. Little Miss is much more reserved and cautious but coming round.

Anyway, the kittens are definitely not MSE so better do some money saving to compensate!
Look advantage of Prime day to stock up on cat food (and gin! - someone in Amazon will be profiling me as we speak!)
Worked out when stooze fixes end and going to start the process for OH to BT one of his fixes today. I don't have many good offers so will need to clear at least one balance but hopefully that might free up a new offer.
Hand surgery done and am recovering well I think. Back to work on Tuesday.
Inspired by Watty and others, am doing some mild decluttering - managed to sort an under-bed storage box of paperwork and found some important documents which I will file properly as well as some over a decade old stuff which will go into the wood-burner to dispose of it.3 -
Omg the kitties are so cute! 😍 Well done for rescuing them. It's so sad to see animals in need and overflowing rescue centres, especially when we're supposed to be a nation of animal lovers 😔 I'm sure they will bring you lots of love and fun!Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000.
Aiming to be mortgage free by my 40th birthday, June 2026!2 -
By my estimate, I need to OP around £50 to get under £300k next month. Got quite a bit waiting to be confirmed in Quidco and should cash out PA again tomorrow with a fairly healthy pot waiting to be approved.4

Well done on the kitties. Are you definitely keeping them?
Sorry about the £3K gap between stoozed savings and debt. Easily done. Hope you bridge the gap soon and DH gets more with the programme.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks SH, assuming the other cats accept them then yes they will stay.
Managed to do a BT to OH's existing card at 3% fee and 0% for 18 months which is great.
Under £40 to OP to get below £300k next week (hopefully, if my calculations are correct).2 -
Just had a £12 PA survey. Tired - keep waking in the night thinking about work. Got up at 4.30 this morning as couldn't get back to sleep. Need to break that habit pronto.4

Need to break that habit pronto. The most effective remedy I have found is to think about something completely non-work related and nice - so for me it is a flower or a planting I have done that day. For you it could be the kittens, especially little man 😊 It’s seems to knock the brain out of the rumination track.KKAs at 15.06.25:
