Well we qualified for the switch and received the bonus.  Been away for five days - very expensive but enjoyable.  Back to the grind - really not enjoying the job but can't afford to retire, ho hum.

OH's one year savings rate matures this month so should get a few £££ in interest.  Had to take money out of cash ISA to cover credit card bill though as it needed paying from the joint account the same day our salaries were paid into our own accounts.  Need to move that back now.

Have an operation booked on my wrist in less than two weeks and will be off work for anywhere between a week and three weeks.

Mortgage should be under £300k at start of next month.

    Mortgage - £301.250.43
    Reduction of £1,199.84

Need to post more here to be accountable and trying to catch up on diaries to inspire me back to MSE ways!

Got a parcel to go to MM worth £7 - was supposed to be collected yesterday but no sign of the couriers.

Hoping to cash out Prolific again today, had a good couple of days after being off it for over a week whilst away / on leave.  Only on £30ish at YouGov so will be a long time before that cashes out.

Paid off £750 in OP since last October and all free money (surveys, selling etc).  Sold our old cooker for £80 the other day, considering whether to pay cash in to bank tomorrow when in office and then OP that or hold onto the cash.  Also got some coins to pay in (from when we sold eggs at the gate), maybe around £20.

Got around £60 in cashback waiting to be approved.

Otherwise, just need to carry on listing on Vinted, FBMP, Gumtree etc to try and bring in a few ££ to pay off the mortgage.

You’re doing well, steady progress. With you on the waiting to retire but I being way too early yet! 😂

I totally get the excitement of going through a big Mortgage Milestone - we will be going below £250K for the first time since being here in July 😊 We will have lunch out to celebrate. Maybe keep the old cooker cash for a similar treat? 😊

    Thanks SH!

KK congrats on breaking the £250k barrier! Good idea about the cooker money  🙂

Got rid of a mattress yesterday - free but glad it didn't go to landfill as it's not that old.

Had an unexpectedly large bill in for OH's restoration car. He's going to ask the garage to give us an estimate for how much more work / what it will cost as it has really mounted up.

Waiting for couriers to collect a MM parcel. Tried three times so far 🙄 only £7 but it all helps.

Prolific paid out yesterday and got another £18 waiting to be approved so will keep on with that.

We haven’t broken the £250K barrier yet - another couple of weeks and we should do 😊

    Enjoy your cooker treat 😉

Just commented on south_coasts diary about debt. We currently have £81k on 0% deals. £37k due back this year (mostly in my name), £21k in February. Rest later next year / 2026.

Savings is all stuffed in instant access cash ISAs earning around 5%.

I can do a small BT for some of mine on a new card, need to investigate offers on existing cards. Then need to investigate what offers OH could get on his cards or what cards he could apply for.

Otherwise we will need to repay which is not the end of the world but I would miss the interest and we would need to build up a proper emergency fund as having access to that cash we haven't bothered too much before.

Have you been consciously stoozing then? I tried that but ended up over-spending so need to pull back. You may be more disciplined than me though.
