Sorry to hear she’s finally gone over that rainbow bridge. You rescued her, gave her a fabulous life and a loving home, something to be proud of. My thoughts are with you at this sad timeI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Thank you Foxgloves and SA. We are getting used to being a 2 dog house but have both done things that include the third (number of bicuits, looking for her when we are out etc). We are gradually telling people as we see them because as she was on Paul O'Gradys for the Love of Dogs she is quite well known in our area. I did phone the lady at Battersea who fostered he and who we keep in touch with to let her know and I have cancelled her insurance which I could do on line. I also chased the vet about the query on the little ones bill which should have been resolved by now especially when I have paid them over £800 in the last month for various bills to do with the little one and Miss W. Old dogs are a very expensive hobby.I posted the ebay parcel today but other than hoovering the lounge and the bits above I really dont have the will to do much more. The hoovering was desperate as I hadnt done it in the last week so as not to stres Miss W instead getting on my hands and knees with a damp cloth and a hand brush.I am in the middle of reading the latest Jack Reacher book as it has just come out in paperback. I dont often buy new books but I have all the Jack Reacher books and keep them. Most other books I read and sell or return to the charity shoA quiet night now cuddling the little one, Mr H doesnt really do cuddles.3

A no spend day today - hooray!Spent the morning scrubbing the carpet to try and get the smell of pee out after numrous accidents in the last week by Miss W. It is gradually going I think. Then defrosted the freezer as that needed doing badly and then as it had warmed up in the garden out to do a bit outside and groomed Mr H as he is a very hairy collie and is moulting.
Took the dogs for a walk with mr lh and a friend came out as we were in the local park area to give us some flower and a condolence card. It was a lovely gesture but when I opened the card what she had written in it made me cry it was so beautiful.Mr H and the little are still unsettled which isnt surprising so we just have to do ou best to reaasure them.1 -
Still getting used to an empty space on the sofa even more so when I only have one lead to hold on a walk rather than 2.Went to A**i this morning to get a few bits that we needed for the next week. Big shop is tomorrow when Mr LH drives me to Mr T.2 ebay parcels posted while I was out and am still waiting for a 3rd to be paid for.I am still trying to get the smell of urine from miss W out of the lounge carpet. I have tried Bicarb of soda this morning but found I didnt have much so will get some more tomorrow and try again. i also need some carpet cleaner so thats on tomorrows shopping list - I forgot it today. did notice there were tomatoes in the shops today but sunflower oil has disappeared entirely in fact there is very little oil of any description.I heard from the insurance company today and it will be £44 a month cheaper from this month which is a help. I plan to put 15.00 towards the bank loan and £15 towards my emercency fund as that has been hammered by vet bills. That gives me £14 a month for price rises in the shops.Mr LH haas been fighting to remove the spare wheel on a motorbike trailer we were given several years ago to use with our sports car. unfortunately the car is not working and it is going to cost a lot to repair which we cannot afford so we have deided to sell the trailer but it is in need of serious restoration and the spare wheel fixing was rusted so it was a case of brute force and ignorance but at the cost of a bruised hand he has got it off. He just wants to check what works and what doesnt before I list it. Hopefully a little bit more for the loan.Grass cut, plants watered and I noticed the apple tree I bought is coming into leaf so it obviously likking where it is. The garden is really stating to come into leaf now so is looking a bit less sad than it was.

Not a very productive day today as I am not feeling brilliant. I have a condition called Ocular Myasthenia Gravis which causes weakness of the muscles around my eyes so they tend to close on their own. One eye is almost permanently closed the other closes about halfway as the day goes on. It also causes tiredness which is particularly bad when stressed. I think losing Miss W is catching up with me as today I feel shattered. I also have trouble with the muscles around my mouth which makes speaking and eaating hard sometimes. My medication helps but the effects only last a couple of hours so I have to time them as I can only take them 4 times a day.I have checked on my plants and watered as needed and been to Mr T for shopping but decided against a trip to the tip to get rid of some rubbish. I made cullen skink for dinner tonight which we have had with french bread. Usual dog walks and that is it for the day.1

Sorry to hear you don’t feel great. You’ve just had a very stressful time so take it easy for a while if you can, let your body recover.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Sorry to hear you have myaesthenia gravis, @ladyholly. I don't have it myself, but I know quite a lot about the condition because my Mum had it. She managed it pretty well with a complicated drug regime but she certainly had difficult days, mostly when she'd overdone it with physical activity.

Thank you. I am lucky that it is not generalised but it can be quite draining. Activity does make it worse which is why I am generally quite careful with what I do but it has been a busy time with the dogs and quite stressful. Things should calm down a bit now I hope.I forgot to say 15.00 sent to the bank loan today and I think there may be another £10 in the next day or two.2

Mia yesterday as still very tired. Little one to the vet yesterday for 9am appointment. Shame we didnt see the vet until gone 9.30. Little one was getting more and more anxious as she really doesnt like going however they dont want to see her again unless we are worried. The vet reckons she will die from something else before her heart gives out and the broncho dilaters are largely holding her cough at bay so all good news.Today I was in our nearest city at the hospital for my myasthenia. After spending about 3 years telling the consultant neuro when he wanted me to have them I didnt want steroids unless absolutely needed today he agreed with me that (a) I dont need them at the moment and (b) they are not good for you anyway. So no steroids at the moment. It was a 5 min consult which involves a hour bus journey each way but for once I didnt have to waiy for long to come home and when I got off the bus my local one pulled in so all went nicely.
Parcel posted from Sunday sales, It took a couple of days for them to pay and I think thats it for today.3 -
Feeling a bit better today. I spent half the morning checking which books inherited from my sister had been listed on ebay (slow sellers but better prices than the companies that buy books). I have 5 boxes of them and there are more to come. Tomorrow I will list some of the books that arent already listed.I made a chicken hotpot for dinner from a new recipe using chicken and some stock from the freezer which was ok but I dont think we will bother again. It was enough for two meals so thats something to look forward to.Took the dogs out as usual. The little one had a case of the zoomies which for a 15year old dog with a heart condition was amazing to see. We didnt stop her as she looked so happy and was enjoying herself.. She has been asleep most of the time since we got home. I was less happy as we had an mail from the dogs insurance company and I owe another £125 to the vet. I am not going to pay it until they sort out the overcharge or show me what it is for.Did some surveys this evening but am a fair way from cashing out. A no spend day otherwise.
