I am feeling a bit better today and have as beanielou instructed taken it easy.
Went to the the theatre this afternoon for the lion king. While I enjoyed it and the costumes, masks and puppets were brilliant it didnt grab me like some other shows have. I know am probably in the miority and the lady next to me was on her third time of seeing it. Got the bus home but who writes the timetables when the bus from the city gets into the local terminus 1 minute after the last local bus for my area leaves so I had a bit of a walk home but as I am feeling better it was ok.
I have watered the garden tonight which it badly needed as it wasnt done yesterday. I have got a few beautiful strwberries ready to pick which I will do tomorrow when I have bought some ice cream to go with them. I am looking forward to them. There arent so many as I only have 1 plant in its 2nd year and 3 babies from last year which havent really produced yet.£80 towards the winter fuel tranferred into a different account and £50 into the car account as my NHS pension was paid today.Tomorrow I will finish this weeks shopping and I have a parcel to post. Have a peaaceful evening and night.5 -

It has been very warm here this week which doesnt do my breathing any good and poor Bear has really suffered. Hot weather and and black fur coat is not a good combination. If he feels very hot he dips his paws in his paddling pool but ignores it otherwise. He is still trying to the fly population not to mention the odd bee. He is very fast and persistentsowe have to be constantly on alert.I dont mind the flies but the bees are a different matter and I have to keep encouraging them to leave the conservatory.I planted some more lettuce seeds but I think Bear may have dug them up we will see if they grow. Nothing else tosay.omoney spent, little housework done due to the heat and havent even had to waalk Bear at lunchtime due to the heat. We have spent time playing in the morning and evening when it cools a little. He does have his secure field day tomorrow but there is thunder forecast so I am not sure if we will go and Tuesday we are not taking him shopping with us when we go shopping as it will be middle 20s according to the forecast. Nothing else to say now.Hope you had a good weekend and have a good week ahead.6

My dog is a devil with bees. She growls at them and has eaten quite a few 😬I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Mine isn’t interested in flies or bees, she’s all about carrying rocks and digging. Tonight we have pulled the fan down from the loft and it’s helping her settle. Yesterday night she was panting like a steam train. She is also a big black dog…elderly and overweight so the hot weather isn’t her friend. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Poor Bear is not happy with this weather. To be fair neither am I. He is spending much of the day lying on his bed with his personal fan on him. We have been giving him a longer walk in the evening but it is still warm even at 10pm and of course he goes out in the morning which until today has been lovely with a decent breeze. Today it was flat calm and getting hot even at 7am. . We are being promised slightly cooler weather at the weekend but as far as I can see there is a couple of days at a very slightly lower temp and then it starts rising again but it will no doubt change before that. . bear missed his secure field day as the weather was just too hot to take him but he did come shopping with us and sat in the doorway of the car (we have a sliding door ) watching the world go by with Mr LH sat with him. He seems to really enjoy doing that .I have booked theatre tickets for dd and me to see Chess done by our local amateur company in September and also the nutcracker ballet in November.I sent her a text with details of the cost of both and for Annie which she hasnt paid me for yet and strangely I havent had a reply.I know I will get it but not sure when.It has been so hot that I have done literally nothing in the house but have got a fair bit of reading done. Today I must do something so will be off now to grab a duster etc. Hope you have a good day and dont melt .4

Bear is not in my good books tonight. This morning I bought him a couple of soft toys, this evening I found he had helped himself to one of them which is now small pieces and stuffing all over the floor in the conservatory, Serves me right he was too quiet.I actually found found out when he was trying to get the other one off the dining table. I will have to hoover in the morning as its a bit late now.We did get out to the secure field today after minor delays when Mr LH couldnt find the car keys that he had just had in his hands. He had a good time ( Bear I mean) but we had to be careful that he didnt get to hot - wet cool coat on and he used the picnic table in the field to shelter under in between running.Money wise it has not been good but my dd owes me over £100 on theatre tickets and I have had to book a festival for Mr LH which I wasnt expecting.I know it will work out in the end but I have had to transfer £30 from savings which is about what we spent at the garden centre today. No not extravagance just fish food and a UV tube for the pond filter. Both are needed as we were nearly out of food and the tube is for when we clean out the pond. I say we but Mr LH does most of it. I am trying to repay it over the next couple of weeks but it will depend on what Mr LH decides he cant do without for the pond.A small moan about first bus. They have changed their app and I can no longer see exactly where the bus is which was quite useful as they break down frequently. All our buses are from other areas. we never get new ones. I have also complained to the council about a tree badly overhanging one of the paths near us. I have to duck under the branches and in the wind am likely to get hit in the face.I have also had a moan that we still have not received the green garden waste bin which was supposed to arrive within 28 days. It didnt, we just have the label to stick on it it to show we have paid. The good things: I have had a couple of small sales . The weather is slightly cooler although no rain yet. The lawn isnt growing because of the hot weather and lack of rain so no mowing needed. I have a tiny courgette in the garden and one of the tomato plants has a couple of flowers.I thinkthats enough of me drivelling sohave a quiet nightall.4
