Thank you. Bear is a pain in the neck sometimes but he is our pain. No more mention of rehoming. All I've got to do now is to get him to go to his festival at the end of the month because he now thinks I am not capable. i have only been running the house for 50 years, bringing up our dd, walking numerous dogs, working full time plus etc etc all with minimal help from him. Now I am not capable. i know I am am nowhere as fit as I was but I can still manage the walks and we can do brain work which will tire Bear even more than walking. Blooming cheek of some people. On a better note Bear enjoyed his secure field time but seemed a bit unsure of himself. I think he frightened himself on his unexpected stroll on Saturday. I have booked the next two sessions for him for so he is sorted for the next three weeks.Nothing else spent over the weekend and 3 sales. I will only need another £30 to cover Christmas and Birthday presents fo family for the rest of the year. That is a first. There is £1000 in the emergency pot and approx £600 in the household pot as savings toward the hall etc. There is also the car pot with some in it though possibly not enough to cover the car insurance this year. I also have the save the change account which is earmarked for clothes and more particulaoly shoes. There is much in it but it will help.PO and shopping tomorrow and I have been gradually weeding the patio. Still lots to do but there is progress. I will be glad when its done. Probably a bit more tomorrow. That enough from me. Have a good evening.4

Given that you were single handedly manhandling a lawn mower or something at the time, I think that suggests you are more than capable! Its been a very expensive couple of days. Firstly Mr LH went to size up the back gate prior to buying a bolt as part of securing the house only to find that the gate post is split and so wont take the eye of the bolt so wood bought to replace it plus a spring so the gate closes itself and will be harder for Teddy if he tries to open it. He also needed a rear windscreen wiper but managed to get the wrong one so we will have to return it on Tuesday when we are passing. Today Iwe needed Teddys calming tablets and his flea and worming treatment. On the bright side I got a letter re my pension to say from next month I will get £1.99 a month more. Since I had already had a decent rise I cant complain but why it takes two letters a month apart I havent worked out. I have cashed out £5 on surveys this evening. Pension arrived today so money transferred to the relevant pots. £80 saved towards utilities since they insisted on reducing our payments so the difference is saved toward next winters bill after our fix ends in October.Poor Teddy and Mr LH got absolutely soaked on Teddys walk today so as his coat is still wet I will offer to take him tonight. He may or may not agree.Enough from me tonight so have a peaceful one.5

It has been a bitty week so far. Bears day in the secure field on Monday and I have booked the next block so that £32 spent. Ruesday was shopping day and spend was as expected. We changed the rear windscreen wiper for the correct one on the way home and got a £1.50 refund. Tuesday out to get the things that Mr T didnt have including of all things honey. They only had the expensive versions which I wont buy as we only use it to roast potatoes. Yesterday our dd & sil visited which was lovely as we dont see them very often. Today I had an optician appointment and she agreed the drooping on my left eye needed treatment. I was hoping that the cataract on my right one was ready to operate on but it isnt quite there yet. Anyway new glasses sorted so that may help the headaches I have been having.Bear seems to be settling properly now but I thibnk it is going to be a long job for him to feel that this is his forever home as he has had such a mixed first few years. He is able to sit and watch most dogs at a distance and as long as we take things very slowly he will tolerate many of the local dogs after a few meetings. Mr LH has put a spring on the gate andhe has cut the post for the gate but we want to paint it before it is fixed in position. 1st coat done and hopefully the 2nd coat tomorrow if it doesnt rain.Money wise not much happening. I am just glad we have no debts or mortgage with the latest interest rate rise.2

Not posted for a few days mainly because there is nothing new to report . The most exciting thing is we have bought a new chair for Mr LH from social media fo a whole £15 so pleased with that. Today we have at last got to the tip and have decided to get a garden bin as Mr LH complains about the mess and insects that ened up in the car (we even had a worm). Now the rubbish has gone I can paint the final bits of the fence. Other than that the usual shopping and Bear ssecure field day where had no intention of doing as he was told but had a good time anyway. All in all this month is proving very expensive with one thing and another. Optician last week so that was £85 - I get the cheapest glasses I can but have asked for the coating on the lenses this time as it might make staring at the computer a bit easier on my eyes. Hopefully they will be ready to collect very soon. I dont think there is anything else so will say goodnight.4

Great bargain on the chair!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1

Update on Bear (warning for those not interested)His walking is gradually improving but as with all dogs constant repetition is needed. He has several friends now who he will quite happily walk with or ignore. His recall is still lousy in the secure field but we discovered this week if we wave his lead thing with the piece of sheepskin on the end he will come charging back from quite a distance. This is something we only use in the field as he is obsessed with it and is a pain at home with it it. He does have other tuggy toys so is not deprived. This may be useful if he ever escapes again. We wont need to buy fly spray this year as not only does he chase them he actually catches and kills them. He has very fast reactions!! We have just discovered that he can push the sliding conservatory doors open if they are not properly closed. He is stubborn, funny, lovable, annoying and a real character and he seems to have been here forever. On other news. There is now £1150 in the emergency fund and approx £900 in the house account. Mr LH is going to his festival next week after all the tantrums that he cant leave Bear with me as I cant be trusted etc. Unfortunately because he has left it so late to decide all the food shopping has to be done between now and Monday which as far as buses are concerned is a pain as the only day they run a normal timetable is ttomorrow which is too soon for the fresh stuff he takes. He has also announced he wants me to bake some pies and cakes to take to share with others.I was down at BiL yesterday and also met a friend on the station on the way home so back later than usual and exhausted to the point I was in bed before 10pm which is umheard of. The trains on the way back were all running late and I think my connection in Bath was cancelled so I had to go on to Bristol where more trains run to my home town. Still home eventually with our fish and chip supper. A little more stuff brought back to put on ebay so will be busy listing as I can. If I cant do it before it can be done after MrLH goes away. The garden is not doing well this year as stuff is either being eaten or for some reason just not growing so disappointing. My neighbour has given us 3 tomato plants so hopefully they will produce something. I think that all for now have a good evening.4
