Well done on the painting, it's good that it's nearly done. I'm looking to get our hall, stairs and landing painted too. It also needs carpeting but that can be done at any point as the carpet was pulled up years ago.
Have a good weekend, good luck with the books!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1 -
Happy St Georges day and Shakespeares birthday. The fence now has both sides painted but one only has the first coat. I couldnt carry on this morning as everything was wet fro the rain last night and there has been more rain today and it is forecast all day tomorrow so although Tuesday is supposed to to nice the fence will be wet. I will get it finished at some point.Instead of painting today was sorting out the final positions for the pots, transplanting some seedlings and sowing some seeds. Also a few more weeds pulled up. In addition the lounge cleaned.
New boots ordered fo Mr :H as his are leaking. I have gone for a mid price pair in the hope they will last and I really dont want to pay a couple of hundred pounds for a pair of boots. I paid £75 reduced from £130.We are also looking for a new harness for Bear as the one he has is rubbing his fur under his front legs. The problem is it has to have 2 D rings as he is very strong and we need to use a double ended lead for control until he eventually learns not to pull.1 sale today which assuming it is paid for will be posted in the morning.Money wise not a lot happening but used veg water fo gravy and stuffing for dinner, washed up once today instead of several times. 1 load of washingf done at 30 which is the coolest my machine does.Have a good evening.4 -
Well done on the progress on the fence.
I thought of you today when I was reading my book as the dog in it is called Bear. I was very worried when fictional Bear went missing but he's safely home now.

What a miserable day weather wise but at least it hasnt rained. Great news the fence is done except the bits I cant get to until we can get to the tip. Mr LH doesnt like taking wet stuff in the car even when I cover the carpet so that is still waiting.Last night we went to put the heating on (we have no other heating source except a small fan heater) as Mr LH was cold as usual and found the remote for the boiler had died. Batterie replaced just in case but no joy so Mr LH sat down and took it apart, with great difficulty. It isnt meant to be taken apart as it needs a special key which we dont have. After a lot of huffing and puffing he found where the battery terminal attached to the printed circuit board didnt meet so he sorted that out and then spent what must have been nearly an hour trying to put it back together. The good news is that it worked and still is. That must have saved a fair bit of money. I am glad I married an electronics engineer.Bear missed out on his run in the secure field on Monday as it was raining heavily and he really isnt into rain. His behaviour since has been very variable so he really missed it. Shopping yesterday where prices are continuing to shoot up. I am shocked every week by the bill but have great difficulty going to more than one shop so am limited to Sainbury and Tesco. Aldi is close but they dont keep everything we need and having to carry what I buy in one to go to the other is too much for me. However as I forgot carrots for Bear yesterday I will need to go out tomorrow so will go to Aldi to see if its cheaper. My baby plants seemed to have survived the cold on Monday night and we are being promised it will warm up but will include more rain.
Nothing else much on the money front except we have had the utility bills for last month and we are using less gas and electricity than last year which is satisfying.Off to read my book now. Have a quiet night.2 -
Well done on the fence!
I'm also looking forward to a bit of warmer weather. I agree about supermarket prices, I did my order last night and several things were up by 10p or more again!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Very bad day today. Bear escaped when I was lifting the lawnmower through the front door. He ran a long way and refused to come back. He went for a couple of dogs and was chasing and barking at cars and bikes. Mr LH is furious with me for letting him out and is talking about rehoming him. I feel awful and am just hiding in my bedroom. Hopefully he will calm down eventually. Sorry to be so down but I am so upset at the whole thing. Yes I made a mistake but unfortunately I am no perfect which is what he expects2

So sorry to read this.
None of us are perfect.Fact.
When I got my new rescue cat a few weeks ago he accidentally got out after two weeks & was missing for a week before he came strolling back.
I know it's different but accidents & mistakes do happen.

I do hope so. I hate it when he is like this. I just hope I can persuade him not to rehome Bear as he will never forgive me. At the moment I am supposed to get in touch with the rescue on Tuesday.1
