@ladyholly,  I can't help laughing at Bear's naughty exploits at the field, what a little wind-up merchant he is! I'm so happy that he has found some  canine chums, too x

He is a bit of a comedian. Usual walks today and then he sat in the doorway of the car (we have a sliding door) waiting with Mr LH while I did the supermarket shop. He has been a very good boy today but will be miserable tomorrow as I am of to my BiL and he apparently misses me. I leave at 7am and dont get home until about 7pam so it is a long time for him. Mr LH will be here of course but he likes all his pack to be around.

Picked up prescription this morning and while I was there looked for some trousers in M*t**** but all the ones they had were either too small, ankle grazers whic I dont like or long length so came away empty handed. Very frustrating as I have been looking for a while but as ankle grazer are the fashion they seem to predominate the shops and on line. I will continue my search.

As I am away tomorrow I have done very little today but at last I have phone the company for the garage door. They ae coming to look at it on Thursday afternoon so we will be able to make a decision on what to do very soon. I also phoned my dd which took about an hour. We are both quite chatty when we get together.

The washing I did yesterday is dry so has been put away  except the bits that need ironing which will wait until there is enough to make it worthwhile plugging the iron in. Gas and electric bill has arrived and we are still £300 in ccredit but this will disappear now the £67 from the government has ended. I have been saving money towards the bills for when our fixed rate ends in October and  E-- reduced our payment.

I have been gradually sorting out summer clothes and think I will have enough. Hopefully one or two more tops will come out of storage if I manage to lose some weight. This was going to be very short but as usual I have gone on for far too long so will end here and say goodnight.

I like to hear how Bear is doing too, & I'm not even fond of dogs! I think we are just all really hoping he continues to settle in & enjoy his new life.

Glad that was of help.  We don't pay for garden waste either, just take a few bags periodically.

Well done on resisting the hot cross buns.  They've definitely gone up this year in Mr T so definitely must be a loss leader.

    Enjoy your trip to BIL

Shattered last night from the travelling. I found out late on Monday the time of my first train has been brought forward by 13 minutes which meant leaving home a bit earlier. I was up at 5.30 went downstairs and Bear was looking at me as if to say what are you doing up at this time? He went for his usual walks quite happily and after his breakfast I suspect he went back to bed to finish his nights sleep. All the trains were a few mintes late but only had to rush for one connection. I have brought back one or two bits from BiL to sell and from the next time I go will be starting on the acres of books that my sister collected. The single bedroom is a library and there are several bookcases in other rooms so although I thought things were coming to an end I t will go on for some time as I cant bring back many at a time due to the weight.

The train fare has risen by a couple of £s and our fish and chips when I got home is now over £18. I think next time we will go back to 2 fish and 1 chips or even split 1 portion between us.

It is bright and sunny here at the moment but the forecast says rain later so I am not going to risk the fence painting. I am not sure what I will be doing today so that probably means tidying, putting away and resting as I am still weary. We also have the garage door man coming later so hopefully know a bit more then. Will report back later.

    Have a good day.

    Glad your journey went ok.
Sounds like there are plenty of books to keep you busy with sorting and selling.  Good that the money you make doesn't have to go towards debt now.
fish and chips are not a cheap option anymore but I reckon you must enjoy them after your long day of travelling.

Garage door inspected and the cable has been put back on but due to other problems this is very much a temporary solution. Gave the go ahead to get a quote for a new one. I hope they come back quickly as I want the job done asap so we can use the conservatory. It will take approx 5 weeks to order the door so the best we are lookin at is the end of April but more likely to run into May. Then all I will have to do is pursuade Mr LH to sort out what is to go back in the garage and what go to the tip.

£20 payout from surveys received and put into Christmas savings account and other money put into household repairs account. There will be plenty for the garage door from what he said so then the savings start for decorating the hall and stairs and a new carpet. The existing one is very worn so  I hope it wont take too long to save enough. I have no idea how much the decorating will cost so will have to get estinates in the near future.

Bear was very good yesterday with another dog running towards him at high speed a couple of times. All we got was a couple of warning growls from him. It was a young dog that we know and suspect it was heading to us rather than him. He also saw a couple of his friends and after his walk Mr LH took him out for long line training he was allowed to run to me stood outside our house off lead. He came well so we will gradually expand on that. We are hopeful that one day he will be able to be off lead . He does become deaf at times and is easily distracted by birds cats etc.

Now I must go and do something in the garden before the forecast rain starts.

Quote for garage door received and go given. Deposit paid so hopefully it wont be too long. The door we have chosen is a shorter delivery if they have them in stock. We are really looking forward to it as Mr LH cant open the old one and I have to fight it to get it open.

Bears secure field day and it was a mud bath with a large puddl that hi tried to bathe in. He was filthy and wet when we finished but he had a wonderful time. He was very good when he went out first thing as there were two dogs right outside the hous and we saw several others. He lokked but there was no barking or lunging towards them. He wasnt so good last night when he saw the local foxes but he was Mr LH so I didnt have to dal with it.

Achieved a fiver payout from surveys but havent had any today. One sale today on ebay but nothing over the weekend. A friend brought me some empty boxes yesterday so had a fun game of box tetris to get them in the cupboard.

A lovely sunny day today so a little bit of painting done but I dont think there will be any in the near future if the weather forecast is right as there will be rain every day. I will get it all done but as each panel needs two coats as it is new wood so is time consuming.

Money saving . I boiled 3 eggs togteher and put 2 in the fridge ready for lunch for the next two days, washing done of 30 and hung in the bedroom ( my garden doesnt get a lot of sun until later in the year), No heating on at all today unless Mr LH gets cold later. My little tomato plants are doing well and there  are signs of lettuce coming up in the garden. I have also got courgettes and cucumbers of the window ciill in the bedroom. They get taken off each night a it gets a bit chilly and I dont have a propogator. Hopefully they will grow.

Off to read my book for a bit of peace. I do like David Baldacci. Have a peaceful night.

I thought of you when I heard the sad news. I’m gutted, he was such a lovely person. I followed him on Instagram and he only posted a couple of days ago. Such a sad loss, he loved animals so much.
