News from today. Too cold to start the fence painting as a cold wind was coming straight into the garden. An unpleasant surprise in the post as I have been called for jury service. I am appealing due to my health problems. The thought of having to leave home at 7.15am and not getting home until approx 6pm for up to 10 days is exhausting me just thinking about it. This is not including the other issues I have which you really dont want to know about but I will have to reveal to the court. 5 years ago I wouldnt have had a problem doing it but now I think I would end up being ill. I am hoping they will excuse me but obviously there is no guaruntee.Nothing else to say about today except 2 loads of washing done but not yet dry. Some listing for ebay done but I have had no sales this week yet. Most of my items end on Sunday so I live in hope for tomorrow. Bear had his usual walks and was pretty good. I think his pulling might be improving until he smells or sees foxes, cats or other dogs. he does seem to be enjoying the garden a bit more now and is spending time out there. I will be glad when we can move the storage box and I dont have to keep an eye on him at there.Thats the lot for now. Have a good evening.2

Mr SA was called up for jury service last year. He was excused due to his mobility issues and brain injury. It would’ve been really interesting though as it was the Coroner’s Court.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Sorry about the jury service. I was lucky & never got called & now I'm too old. My exH was called & really sort of enjoyed it. Enjoyed isn't really the right word. But I was glad I wasn't because I am not very good at telling if people are being honest. Which thinking about it is probably why I ended up getting divorced.

A few years ago I would have loved to do it but I dont cope well with long days and there will be a lot of concentration which I also find very tiring. I also have other problems with toileting ( I am trying to be delicate) and sitting still for longish periods. If I am sitting I have to move my legs every 5 - 10 minutes or I end up in pain and my legs start to jump on their own.I can only apply for exemption and hope for the best. I will let you know.2

We want to watch the spin off from Death in Paradise but not sure why they are basing it in Devon when it is actually filmed in Looe, Cornwall which is near to us.Having watched it it seems to have been filmed in several different locations. Mr LH said he recognised some of them. We used to live in the Torbay / Totnes area. Wherever it was filmed we diid enjoy it. Hopefully subsequent episodes will be as enjoyable.Yes we did enjoy the Cav. I did think of getting Champagne as it was a special anniversary but seemed a bit pointless as we like Cava just as much.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. I hope you get your exemption, I would need it too.

I managed to get an exemption a few years back (I was late 60s) as I wouldn't have been able to get to the court they'd allocated me by 10am by public transport and wouldn't have been able to get back home as the last bus from the nearest town left at 5.30pm and the journey from court to that town is about an hour and half so would probably have missed the bus! Told them I don't drive.
I think they're quite good at giving exemptions if you have a good reason.1 -
