Our dog is the same, she doesn't eat when we go out, but will scoff something when we come back.

Thanks to all for telling me Bear isnt the only one that leaves his treats until he has company. At present he is playing tuggy with Mr LH. A quick trip to the PO yt again to post another ebay sale then Mr LH informed me that his milk is on the turn so I will have to go out again tomorrow which was not on my radar. :#   Great news the trellis is up unpainted but up. :) I have manged to do a bit of cleaning but not as much as I planned. Oh well there is always tomorrow. The main problem is getting down to skirting boards etc but I cant actually kneel down without being in a lot of pain or my leg cramping so Ihave to do the  best I can bending over and hoping I dont fll over when I stand up. Of course getting up from kneeling is an even bigger issue. I have been known to crawl to the stairs so I can make my way up them slowly. Bear has had a couple of incidents today. He growled at another dog just after I had told the owner he was fine with dogs!!! This afternoon he lunged and barked at someone. We knew this was in his history but it is the first time we had really seen it. He came straight home for a while and wa then tken out again when he behaved perfectly.

Money wise Mr LH threw a curved ball last night by suddenly announcing he wanted to book one of his festivals as they were almost full so £50 out of the bank that I wasn't  expecting as he said he wasnt doing any this year. We are takng Bear to the nearest one for the day to see how he behaves and will then make the decision if he is going with Mr LH or we wait until we have trained him a bit more and he goes on his own.

Off to watch some TV and then time for bed. Goodnight, have a peaceful one.

Dogs can be strange with food, when I’m working in the office, although I leave food out for her and she’s not alone because Mr SA is with her all day,  she doesn’t eat until I get back home.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

I have finished spring cleaning the hall and have done the stairs except getting the lsmpshade down to wash. I did the hall one today and was so shaky didnt think it was safe to use the steps for the one at the top of the stairs. A job for tomorrow possibly.
In view of Bears escape when he first arrived we have decided to move the plastic storage box to the other side of the garden where next doors trees will stop him jumping on it and then over the fence. Where it is he could jump on it and go straight over into next doors garden where they have rabbits - Bear plus rabbits - not a good combination. Pots to move,  storage to empty, gravel to move from where it will go plus 2 boxes of rubble which I am gradually getting rid of a the recycling centre charge. I might make a start tomorrow as it is going to take some time and I need to be sure the weather is ok.

Bear went for his weekly trip to the secure field today. His recall was excellent and he had a lovely off lead run. Hopefully soon wont need the field but we have to be sure we can get him back as there are a lot of cats here. We saw 4 while we were out this morning and Bear can only see one use for them. To chase. He was much better behaved in the car as well and I sat in the front on the way home which is a first. He does seem to be trusting us more to keep him safe but he is definitely Mr LHs dog as he largely ignores me if he is around.

4 parcels posted with the 5th not paid for until we had just arrived home so I will have to go out either tomorrow morning or Wednesday to post it.

The roast chicken we had last night has also made a risotto tonight and there is plentty left for lunch tomorrow before we go shopping. We also still need to get paint for the fence and trellis. Another garden job that needs doing before we move things about so that might be Wed morning. I am at the theatre on Wed. afternoon to see My Fair Lady with my dd.

Money is a bit weird at the moment so I need to get a handle on that. THere have been a lot of unexpected bills recently and although the money is there it has depleted the savings which is annoying. Me not knowing the date didnt help either but it will work out in the end and we have more money now than we have ever had and no debts. So I am regarding that as a win. Utiliyy readings done today  so the bill will be here in a couple of days.

Thats caught up with our doings for now. Have a peaceful night and for those who are poorly get well soon.

Today has been a bust as far as housework/ garden work is concerned. I realised I needed to collect my prescription and also post the parcel. Unfortunately they are in opposite directions so had to get a taxi between the 2 as there is no bus service. Got a couple of bits at Saimsbury including tinned dog food which has gone up from £7.20 to £9 for 6 tins. He only has a spoonful so I have changed it to a cheaper brand. Weekly shop this afternoon which completely wiped me out not helped by having to stand in a queue for ages which was a repeat of this morning in the phamacy. Standing is worse for my knee than walking and the pain at the back of it from the cyst is back. I have been doing some exercises I found on line for it and they have helped most of the time.

Bear is getting better in the car and I can now sit in the front without him getting too stressed.

It is a busy week as I am at the theatre tomorrow and then to my bil on Thursday. That has been hard to fit in as I realised we have booked the field for Bear on Monday which is when I was planning on going so then thought Friday would be good but it is our golden wedding anniversary so thought deserting Mr LH for the day might be a bit tactless. Therefore Thursday it is.

I looked at the left over chicken from Sunday and decided to have it with salad for dinner as ther was a bit much for lunch. 5 meals out of it isnt too bad as it works out at just less than £1 per meal.. Mr LH had home made cheese burgers so he was happy.

All good with Bear except he got a bit stroppy with an off lead dog who was quite bouncy. I am sure he will be much better with other dogs when we can have him off lead.

Off to read others diaries so sleep well.

Bear sounds like he is doing very well.
apart from you would anyone notice if the hall lampshade isn't washed?  I'd advise to avoid climbing up ladders at the moment and anyway it isn't even spring yet so spring cleaning the lampshade could wait a while 😸

You havent seen the state of the lamshade. I cant remember when it was last washed. I am sure it brighter in the hall now. :)

Just remembered we had the utility bill this morning and are still about £300 in credit so I am pleased wih that. It will all help when our fix ends in October.
