Bear has met our friends dog today. A little growl over treats but otherwise all ok. He has met other dogs as well that he has previously seen and nice interactions with them. Mr LH walked his back from his main walk along the road and he was fine except for someone with an empty carrier bag which blew in the wind and spooked him a bit. He was a bit barky this morning as our neighbour was a bit noisy but stopped when told. He is doing really well considering the changes he has had in the last 3 days.

First lot of dd for the month have left our account, because our state pensions come in weekly and our pivate pensions monthly they are spread through the month. There is also my attendance allowance which is 4 weekly. Most months that goes to the savings account and is withdrawn as and when I need to pay for something that I need to help me such as taxis, window cleaner etc.
Money saving tings - a very short shower (hard when washing long hair but I am as fast a possible), heating on at a lower temperature and going on later, vegetable water used for stuffing and gravy and only washed up twice today.

I have managed to change the bed today but most housework is on hold at the moment although my knee is gradually improving and I think in a day or two it may be ok enough for normal activity to resume. I did take bear for a short walk first thing and again while he was waiting for Mr LH who was taking too long for Bears liking. He growled at a man who appeared round a corner suddenly and he barked and lunged at a van who was using the cul de sac at the other side of our green area when we had just about reached the corner - He doesnt like traffic or people appearing unexpeectedly. Many of these things will resolve in time as he gets used to them and realises that he is safe and loved.

Off to watch the repair shop. Have a peaceful evening,

It sounds like everything is going really well with Bear, I'm so pleased for you :)

Hope your knee eases up soon.

Nothing much happening here. My knee continues to improve and for the first time for a few days I wasnt tossing and turning most of the night due to the pain. I managed to clear the area that Bear used as steps to get over the wall in the garden so we need to see if he can still get over it using a long line to stop him if needed. We have been using it but holding on , now is the time to leave it but still have it. The next step will be one of us goes out the front door and around the back to stand on the other side and stop him if he tries. I am hoping that he will eventually be like all the others and want to stay. He is settling well and for the first time came upstairs to find me as soon as I got up this morning.

His walking is doing well unless he sees cats or foxes, or there is a motorbike which he does not like. We are taking him to a busy road each day to just sit and watch the traffic for a minute or two. As soon as he appears uncomfortable we take him away, this is what we did with Miss W and it worked so hopefully it will be the same for him. A friend visited a couple of nights ago and he was quite growly until he took his glasses off so we are are wondering if men with glasses are the problem and not just men. He does seem to pick and choose which ones he doesnt like. He doesnt mind my glasses or my walking stick but did not like a man who appeared on the green with a stick (no glasses). Who knows what memories these things set up.

In the house he is doing well and there have been no problems, he is beginning to sit on the settee and doesnt use his rather exexpensive anti stress bed. He has a vet appointment next week so I can get his flea and tick treatment which our vet cannot give unless he has seen hiim within the last year which obviously he hasnt. I also need to sort out his microchip chip registration after I have had the number checked whilst there.

Money wise there is nothing to report except I have paid the final water bill for this year - ours runs from May to February. I have had the refund on my latest train fair - only £4 but better than nothing and I was barely 15 minutes late, the refund for the trip I didnt make was for more as it was a much longer delay if I had got there.

Now off to take Bear for a walk as he is lying in the hall waiting for me.

    Have a good day.

Good Bear is settling down but shame your breathing not good.  It has been cold and damp out there today although very sunny down here.

My DDs collie hates motorbikes too.

How frustrating about the locked gate but good that you'll take Bear there next week.
he seems to be doing well in such a short time.  I'm sure he will continue to settle and you and Mr LH will become his family and your home will be his home.
