Pleased to hear about Bear. I hope he will settle well and you will all enjoy being with each other.

Evening all. Thank you for your kind comments.Bear arrived about lunchtime and when his owners left so did he over the wall at the bottom of the garden. We eventually found him on the green we normally take the dogs to. His previous owner got there before me and he came quietly to have his lead on and returned home with us. Mr LH went straight out to buy some trellis to fix to the top of the wall tomorrow. In the meantime he is only going into the garden on a long line. We felt dreadful but I think he was so upset at them going out of the gate he acted before thinking and then panicked because he didnt know where he is.Since then he has been a very good boy. He pulls on the lead but nowhere near as badly as C and he generally walks in astraight line. He has met several local dogs and the only one that elicited a soft growl was jumping at his face so thats understandable. He has been pacing and panting a lot with stress but again thats understandable. However this eveing I think it has all caught up with him and he is settled and dozing. He definitely prefers Mr LH and only comes to me briefly. This may change when he realises I make his food. I am quite happy with this though as he is more for Mr LH than me although obviously I will do walks training etc as well. The bad things from today. I took the ebay parcels to the PO and they were shut again. I didnt stop to enquire why as I was in a hurry to get home for Bears arrival so will try again tomorrow. Then with all the running around trying to find Bear my knee is very sore again so have been using an icepack again. Mr LH has done Bears walks as I am not sure I could. I am hoping I will be able to go for a short one in the morning with him. He is already learning some stuff and hopefully be much more appropriate for us as get get even older.Flying_By we had to look up Mudis too as we had never heard of them. Yes they do have a lot of the characteristics of colliies but are a bit smaller. They are just as clever though so I think he will keep us on our toes. Mr LH will enjoy do some training with him.

Young Master Bear sounds as though he will be just the tonic for you and Mr lh. It seems he is far more malleable than C and a better fit for your lifestyle. Wishing the three of you lots of happy adventures xx2

Bear is doing well and starting to talk to me. He was very focused on Mr LH yesterday but has sat with me and I have received one or two licks on my nose. Not something I encourage but it shows he is starting to accept me. He is still confused as to where his previous people are but he will eventually accept and trust us.He has walked well and met more dogs today. One growled at him and he backed away which is a good reaction. We have been pleasantly surprised by his reaction to other dogs as we were led to believe he could be difficult with them. He has also seen a bus and lorry and although he backed away he did pretty well with them. He came shopping with us today and stayed in the car with Mr LH and although anxious did well. He doesnt like travelling apparently and it was only a short trip so we were pleased with him. I think he was glad to get home though.I suspect his past is what is causing his anxiety - two and a half years in Bosnian kennels and then transported the the UK which would be a long trip and if flown quite frightening for him, then kennels in the UK before before being adopted to first time dog owners who although they have done a brilliant job with him have been very nervous from the behaviours he showed when they first adopted him. We are a bit more confident and I think that is having a good effect on him. We know he will challenge us a bit when he is more settled but I dont think it will be anything we havent seen and even if it is thanks to our experience with C we do know a good behaviourist who we can employ to help us.My knee seems to have improved today despite the shopping trip. I have done very little else and have had it iced and elevated during the day. It seems to be working but I am not going to push it. I have also managed to post the ebay parcels that I couldnt yesterday.Nothing else to report except Mr LH is much happier now we have a dog. He has really missed them and was very upset and depressed when we had to return C. He even got up early to walk him so I didnt have to.
I have received the refund for the aborted train journey to BiL a couple of weeks ago and my claim for the late runing last week has also been approved and will be in the bank in a few days. I cant remeber if I said but I alsocahed out £5 from surveys and have received that.
Anyway enough dog stuff. Have a good eveing.3 -
