So sorry but you made the right decision, you couldn't go on like that. No one can say you didn't try your best for him. Hopefully a more suitable dog will come up very soon.

Hugs @ladyholly but the refuge is to blame, not you.  There is a dog out there that's right for you.  Sending love Humdinger xx

I agree with others that you have made the right decision but that doesn't make it easier for you both.  You have had a terribly sad time over the last few months with the loss of your other dogs.  Take care x

Thank you everyone. Yes we are feeling horrible and very guilty. I didnt think we were going to be able to take him back again today as the rescue rang to say it was very icy and snowing there but I said I would ring them late morning to see what was happening and luckily the ice had melted as had the snow. It is not a situation we ever thought we would be in but here we are. We are not going to look for a dog in the short term but wont close the door on the idea. If we do go for another dog we will be very careful about choosing one and make sure we know at least a little about his background and make sure he walks well on the lead as we have discovered age is catching up with us. Hopefully my knees will start to recover a bit. I have had arthritis for years but Cs walking has certainly taken it toll on them.

There has been nothing else done today except I cleaned a kitchen cupboard out whilst waiting for the potatoes to boil to go with the stew I put in the slow cooker before we left. Tomorrow I will put all the dog stuff away as it is hurting us even to see it around but we couldnt get the will together to do it today plus I am much better in the morning. Friday I am going on my usual trip to my BiL. It should have been last week but I delayed it as the behaviourist came the day befor I was due to go so I arranged it for today but obviously that didnt work out. I hate travelling on Fridays as it is always much busier but it was the only day that suited BiL and me.

I have had two ebay non payers this week so 1 has been cancelled and the other will be tomorrow. I also have bids on 4 items which end on Sunday so hopefully they will be paid for. My cc card bill is paid and I am still getting used to being able to pay all on the due date.

Well that closes today and this chapter of our lives. We can only go forward now and hope for happier times. Have a good night and sleep peacefully.

It’s such a shame it didn’t work out. I hope C gets a happy ending. Always good not to think too much and keep yourself busy.

Today has not been  good day. First my 2nd of 3 trains got stopped after about ghalf the journey and we were told to wait for the next one  in an hour although no guaruntee that one would run as there was a track problem further down the line. This meant I would have problems getting the connection to the 3rd train so gave up and came home. My knee was very sore on arrival home so have done nothing which has led to too much thinking time.  So all I have acheived today is losing most of the the train fare which I will have to repeat next week. I will get some back through the delay repay scheme - I hope but nowhere near the full amount I spent today.
Tried some surveys tonight but kicked out of all of them.

On a slightly brighter note I now have bids on 6 items so if they are all paid for there will be a small amount to add to savings. I have also had aan emeil from utility company who want to reduce our payments to £30 a month. I dont want to do this as there is a fair bit of winter left and Feb/ March are often cold. I think I will have to phone them as according to their website I should be paying £181 and they wont let me reduce it to the present amount. I am totally confused. We are well in credit but that was in my plan as we are on a fixed rate for now so I want a good cushion. Just looked at their face book page and dont think phoning will help as I dont feel like spending literally hours on the phone to get someone who doesnt know what they are talking about so I might just put the difference  into savings so it is there if/ when I need it.

I have started to look at dogs although Mr LH says he isnt sure he wants another one. It is too early really but you never know a prefect one may come up. The one thing for certain is we will be very fussy next time and although there are things we can compromise on we will be much more careful in finding out the dogs history and meet it several times before adoption. We simply cant do this again.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. Have a good evening and I hope your day has been better than mie.
