It does sound as though Bear is coming along nicely. Some things will take longer, but I'm sure he is doing his best, & just gets carried away sometimes with excitement & feeling the wind in his fur.

I’m glad Bear is settling in so well. I bet you can’t wait to wave Mr LH off to his festival - enjoy the peace 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Disaster today with Bear as he came very close to biting someone. I blame Mr LH to a certain extent as he knows Bear doesnt like this man - no idea why. He was trying to get Bear to be more sociable with him and hee was going to get the man to give him a couple of treats which we have done before bur firstly he didnt have the treats in his hand before approaching the man and secondly he was on his own with Bear. The last time we did it I gave the chap the treats before Bear got anywhere near him. Anyway the short story is Mr LH is over reacting - he is a dangerous dog, he has to go etc etc. He is gradually calming down and although I havent criticised his actions yet I will. In the meantime we are taking steps to completely avoid that particular man. Fortunately he doent live very near so we just have to keep our eyes open.Nothing else to report today / I hope your day has been better.2

I'm sure dogs instinctively take a dislike to some people just like we do. We are all allowed not to like someone (though not to bite them, of course).

A bit of a c*** up today on the baking front. Mince pies made for Mr LH to take away and there was supposed to be a chocolate cake as well. Who forgot it was suppoed to be chocolate and made a straight Victoria sponge? I told Mr LH I thought chocoalte was a bit heavy for the warm weather so will buy some strawberries when I shop tomorrow and make it into a strawberry cake. Fortunately as he eats neither chocolate or cake he believed me.The baking seemed to take all morning including the clearing up so nothing else done this morning except washing my sofa blanket and putting it out to dry.
Mr LH has calmed down with bear - he does tend to throw his toys out of the pram when things happen, This afternoons drama was because the car washing brush wasnt where he thought it should be. It was where he left it last time he washed the car which was in the garden where he had put it to dry.Bear had his secure field run today although there wasnt much running as it was quite warm and he doesnt seem to like the warmer weather. He was shattered when we got home and spent the whole afternoon asleep in the conservatory. He is now chewing toys. He loves destoying soft toys and the carpets frequently have a lyer of stuffing over themGarden all watered and the greenhouse closed. I have largely given up on the veg for this year as I have had little luck due I think to snails as I found 4 in the greenhouse yesterday. The shrubs are fine and my acer in a pot is looking the best it ever has done.Tomorrow will be the last bits of shopping for mr LH to go away on Wed. Then I get peace and quiet until Sunday lunchtime except for having Bear. He may be difficult as I think he will miss Mr LH but its not for long.I will be quiet now. A peaceful night to all.5 -
Heavenly peace and quiet for a few days hope you make the most of it 🙂 Mr SA used to be just like Mr LH pre illness days, always throwing his toys out of the pram - it’s a man thing I think 🙄I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Enjoy your few days of peace
My DH and MR LH are similar in character I think. I always know to ignore his first response to everything as it's a complete drama llama response. Then once he has time to think about something he will come up with something more rational."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Shopping for Mr LHs fresh stuff this morning and spent a stupid amount. Way over budget this month so will need to sort this out next month then £92 on diesel for the car. Hopefully that will get him there and back with some left over. I did manage to take some books to the charity shop this morning. Some were mine and some were the ones that havent sold - They send them for recycling if they cant sell them so they wont be wasted.I am looking forward to the next few days although a bit worried about walking Bear for all his walks as Mr LH usually does the night and afternoon ones. I do go with him in the afternoon but come home early. I think we will be doing some brainwork to tire him a bit. The night time one is the hard one as there are so many cats and foxes round here . Both of which wind him up and make him lunge and pull. I intend taking him out before it goes fully dark so at least I can see them if my eye lids are drooping.I have plans for the next couple of days like cleaning carpets as someone hates the sound of the carpet cleaner (and vacuum cleaner for that matter). I know how to live.Have a pleasant evening.4

Hi Ladyholly. I’ve binge read your thread over the last couple of days and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was so sad to read that you lost all your old
doggos but then was thrilled to hear about Bear! I confess that towards the end I started to skim read your posts to get to the bits about Bear 😀
