Hi Ladyholly. I’ve binge read your thread over the last couple of days and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was so sad to read that you lost all your old
doggos but then was thrilled to hear about Bear!  I confess that towards the end I started to skim read your posts to get to the bits about Bear 😀
Give his ears a rub from me as I LOVE Doggy ears!
Thank you and welcome. I must admit Bear does have love soft floppy ears. 100% mudis have pricked ears but whatever else he is must have floppy ears. Not spaniel floppy but like our little Jack Russell had.

Day 2 of Mr LH being way. He left about 10.30 yesterday and rang to say he had arrived about at 1.30. Lots of roadworks so 3 hours instead of 2. Since he left  I have managed to wash half the lounge curtains and rehang them, hoovered all through downstair, washed a load of towels, defrosted and cleaned the freezer and cleaned the fridge. watered the garden and taken the covers off the suite in the conservatory for washing tomorrow. The trouble is I now hurt all over and start puffing every time I move. Just Bear left to walk tonight. He has had his usual walks albeit a bit shorter than usual so to make up we did some training in the garden.

Bear is missing Mr LH and keeps coming for cuddles which is not like him. He is also being quite difficult when we are out by pulling like a tractor. Usually I can stop this on his morning walk which is the only one I do on my own but he is pulling even on that one. I am doing all the things dog trainers reccomend but he isnt really listening at the moment. I will be going out about 9pm so it will still be light and I can see where we are going. Hopefully there wont be too many cats around and it should be too early for the foxes.  I have to admit I am not looking forward to it tonight.

No money spent as I havent been anywhere. I promised I wouldnt go out except with Bear to try to reassure Mr LH that I would be ok and wouldnt let him escape.  Thats my day. I hope yours was more interesting. Have a quiet night.

Not so busy today but I have given my bedroom a good clean. hoovered upstairs and done 2 loads of washing. I dont think Mr LH is having a good time as in the past he has taken Mr H with him but of couse there is no way Bear could go so he is a bit lonely plus it has been very cold at night. He is in Staffordshire in a camper. He went to bed at 8pm last night to keep warm. Hopefully tonight will be better for him as the festival proper starts today.

My friend has met me briefly the last two night to check I am ok when I take bear out for his last walk and my neighbour texted earlier to check up on me. Mr LH has done a good job making sure I have help available if needed.

Bears walking has been a bit better today so perhaps he has figured that he has to put up with walking more slowly. He has had a sniffari today which kept him amused for a while while I was doing something else and I have booked his next 4 sessions in the secure field so £32 spent on that. I just hope its not too hot for him to run around as he does feel the heat. A black fur coat is not good in hot weather. There is a little shade and we take water and cloths to wet and put over him. Next week I hope to get him a cool coat if I can find one.

That enough wittering for tonight. Have a peaceful one.

Glad to hear you have been managing Bear's walks. One of our cats (Soot) isn't keen on the heat either, so we tried putting a couple of 'Lick-e-Lix' in the fridge for a cool treat on that hot day we had a week or so ago. They looked as though they were tucking into ice-pops, even though they were just cold, not frozen & enjoyed every bit.

Yesterday I did 5 loads of washing and got it all dry - blankets, sheets, towels, clothes etc. All stuff I usually do one or two loads a week and spread it out. I did other stuff but really dont know what. Todays job was giving the bathroom a good clean and a little bit of ironing from yesterdays washing.
Bear was very good on his walk last night so managed the normal walk that Mr LH does with him. A very short one at lunchtime as it was a bit warm for him. He still slept all afternoon until Mr LH got home. They were very pleased to see each other and  made a real fuss of of each other.  He will be doing the walk tonight thank goodness.

Mr LH has now announced he is going to another festival in August. I must admit I am not looking forward to it but dont want to stop him as he does enjoy tthem. He has brought home a fair bit of the food he took because apparently people have been feeding him as their way of showing sympathy for the death of Mr H who was a well known dog there. They seem to be a lovely group of people who all look after each other.  We had a fry up for dinner to use up some of what he brought home. The remains of the sausages I will cook and freeze for Bear as I cant refreeze them raw. Everything else we can use except the burgers which got squashed beyond recognition.

Garden watered and I think I know why my veg hasnt done well this year. The cause is short with black wavy fur who I have found nosing in the pots today. Next year I will net the seeds as once they are a reasonable size he seems to leave them alone.

I think thats i for tonight. Hope you all had a nice weekend.

Aw that’s lovely people are sympathising over the loss of Mr H. My dog is well known locally for sitting on Mr SA’s knee when he goes out on his scooter and a few days ago we went to the doctors without the dog, the woman in the shop at the bottom of our road was really worried because the dog wasn’t with us, she thought something had happened her.

Bear did quite well during his off lead time yesterday - even his recall wasnt too bad although he kept ignoring Mr LH but I think that was his protest at of going away. Unusually today his walking was good this morning which it isnt usually the day after his secure fiel session.

Last night I suddenly remembered is is my sil's birthday today so plans had to hange so I could go and take his card etc. We were going to a local farm shop this afternoon but that had to be put off as I was out all morning and didnt want to leave Bear again this pm. Parcel posted this morning and a little bit of shopping done before I went visiting. Council tax paid  a bit late but that thats because its the first time I have been out this month. Another parcel to go tomorrow and in the afternoon I am off to see the Lion King. This was my Christmas present from my bil.

I think I have done too much over the weekend as I has been feeling pretty horrible and last night had pains in my chest and neck right up to my ears. It has happened before so I wasnt too worried. It has gradually gone away over today. I might have rung the GP but I know I would only get a phone consult and as I have to be out during the next couple of days this doesnt work. My mobile phone wont always answer so I have to be in for the landline plus I dont really want to discuss my health in public.

Nothing else done today other than dog walks. I hope you have a nice evening.
