I have picked the last of the tomatoes and put them to ripen. The pots are put away along with the canes that were holding them up.I have also stripped everything off the kitchen worktops and given them a really good clean. Shopping this afternoon and have finally collected my the remains of my prescription. I havent had any of those tablets for a week but can restart them tonight. I will check when I can order new ones and hopeffully not run out when supplies arent available. I am hoping to get into our local town tomorrow. Havent been for ages and now have a list.Had a fun time watching Mr LH getting more and more angry at the over the top coverage of the the death of the Queen on TV. Every so often I hear an explosive for **** sake.Made instant mash, gravy and stuffing from the veg water this evening, all to go with the pork chops we were having. No heating yet but Mr LH is starting to complain of feeling cold. It is 22 in our lounge at present.Mr LH asked if i would be able to drive after my op but I pointed out that my eyelids would still droop but not all the time as at present, I could also develop double vision. However quite honestly although I probably would be ok I dont think I have the confidence now so wont bother although it wou;d be handy sometimes.Incidentally just in case people think I am nuts and cant spell I have a twitch on my finger which often results in double letters on posts where they dont belong. Very inconvenient when trying to put in numbers on the phone when using automatic answering.Off to watch " The repair shop" even though its an old one I still enjoy them. Goodnight.2

Have you considered asking about patient transport for your operation appointment?
When DH has appointments in London hospitals he gets collected from the house by a patient transport driver (they may pick other people up on the way too) and deposited at the hospital where a porter can take him to the appropriate ward and then he's taken back to the waiting area, booked in and brought home again too. It would involve a taxi, 2 trains and another taxi each way which just isn't doable for DH, pain/comfort and affordability wise.
Also worth seeing if you have a local patient volunteer driver scheme in your area. We used that for more local hospital appointments. We had to cover the cost of fuel per trip and the driver would wait until you were ready to come home again, always nice cheerful drivers who were happy to help.

Neither of these apply to me. The only detriment to me is stress due to wondering if the buses are running and being exhausted from a long trip. I dont even get to sleep for the op as it is under local anaesthetic. I will investigte community transport as I am very out of touch with such things since I stopped work as a carer and my Mother died both of which were a long while ago now.
Thank you for your suggestion.2 -
Glad you've got an appointment, and hope you can sort out some transport.

I got into town yesterday and managed to get the bank plus numerous other shops. I did get 3 tops unfortunately not from the charity shops as they had nothing suitable but I should be ok now. I also got the rest of the bits I needed for the face cloth dogs I am making for a friend for Christmas. I will put photos on when I have done them if I can work out how to do it. IThe reason for the bank visit was to put some change I have collected into my bank account which I then transferred to the loan. According to the bank there are 3 months to go, this months payment goes out on Tuesday (It should be Monday but will obviously be delayed).Today I weeded the gravel in the front garden and cut back one of the shrubs. This afternoon we took some more of the trailer tent to the tip plus three bags of garden stuff so thats a good thing done. Depending on Mr LH there might be some more dismantling done tomorrow.A mess up this afternoon put some lamb steaks in the slow cooker and an and a half later found I hadnt put the lid on so whacked in up to high for an hour and they were fine. I just grieve over the waste of electricity.Off to watchch the Repair shop now. Happy evening.3

Sitting here trying to decide whether I need to buy milk today. I have to go to the supermarket to see if they have black pudding for Mr LHs breakfast as they didnt have any when I went shopping earlier in the week, I know we dont need it yet but I have no intention of going out this weekend (bus timetables are a pain at the weekend) and would usually get it on Monday but the shops are shut on Monday. On the other hand I dont want it going off. Decisions, decisions nothing but decisions. I think getting smaller bottles might be the answer, they will cost more but there wont be any waste. There decision made.Better go and find the little one to take her out and give her some breakfast. She usually sits and pesters me until I can give it to her but I think she is with Mr LH. Oh she has just arrived.1

My musings about milk this morning came across a problem. Mr S didnt have 1pint full fat or 2pt skimmed so it had to be the usual 2pt ff and 4pt sk. I just hope it lasts.Little one is coughing a lot today. I tried to get an appointment at the vet as I am concerned that that she may have fluid in her lungs (one of the hazards of mitraal valve disease). Unfortunately they had nothing for today so I have to ring at 8.30 in the morning and hope I can get an emergency appointment otherwise I think we may be at the emergency vets as ours are shut on Monday.Nothing exciting money wise except I spent far too much when shopping but did get some of next weeks shopping so hopefully not too bad on Tuesday. Now watching the Detectorists on Drama. A brilliant programme I just wish MacKenzie Crook would write a 4th series.but he has said he wont.1
