  • If you don't get divorced over it, you could try to explore England's faded seaside towns. Something like this:

    Evening all

Another short one as I have done very little. I woke at 3am and didnt go back to sleep. I think knowing I had to be out shopping by 7.30am was playing on my mind. Anyway got up about 5.30 so got in my walk before going shopping. That was slightly delayed as Mr LH appeared about 7.15 so sorted him out before leaving. It wasnt a problem as the original reason for leaving so early was to be back to wake him at 8.30. Obviously that wasnt needed as he couldnt sleep either.

I was very grateful not to be written off by a couple of youngsters on bikes who were on the pedestrian part of the path instead of the cycle path. They would have come off worse as I was on the scooter but still a bit worrying as they came round a bend at high speed. Fortunately we avoided each other.

The parcel we were expecting between 9 and 1pm eventually arrived at 5.30 so its a good job I didnt leave the shopping until this afternoon.

I havent cleaned the carpet because I didnt want to make too much noise in case I missed the door so a job for the morning.

A load of washing done and hung up. More to do tomorrow as my drying space is very limited.

Thats my not exciting but quite relaxing day.

    Have a good evening.

Cyclists on pavements are my nemesis especially when there’s a cycle lane - plus a lot of them seem to think red traffic lights don’t apply to them when they do use the road 🤬
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

I’m a cyclist, taxis are my nemesis. I can tell a car is a taxi when they come up behind me without looking by the way they drive. I barely see any cyclists going through red lights these days although I did see a car driver absolutely sail through one the other day.

A cyclist on the pavement is the reason Mr LH refuses to have a flu jab. One of the nurses from our gp surgery was cycling on a narrow footpath when we were out walking dogs in the days when we had 3 dogs. She didnt get off the bike or stop to wait for us to pass despite us being on the narrowest bit. She almost shoved me and a dog into the hedge with no apology. Mr LH swore at her but other than a dirty look no reaction from her. Unfortunately we had our flu jabs a couple of days later and she was doing them. Mr LH swears she hit a nerve in his arm deliberately leaving him unable to feel three of his fingers for several weeks. A big problem for a guitarist.

The two things that annoys me most with cyclists is when they come up behind you and deliberately cut very close as they pass. As my balance is poor and cant walk in a straight line this is dangerous to both them and me. The other thing is not having lights at night. We get a lot of youngsters out in the dark with no lights and I simply dont understand parents not making sure they have lights on their bikes.

I used to cycle to work and back plus doing my shopping on a bike and only went on the pavement if there were no pedestrians. If someone walking appeared I would get off and walk until they had passed.

Are you sure Navy is your colour @ladyholly? My spidey senses are telling me you are more of a brown/ taupe person if you liked that white and black one. Some people always manage to look gorgeous anyway. My sister got her colour done which I thought was ridiculous but I think there's something to it as she does always look nice.

I had my colour done many years ago but was so unimpressed I cant remember what I should be wearing. I am not keen on brown and taupe can make me look washed out. I tend to go for blues and greens or black.

    Evening all

In 2 -3 weeks we have a collapsable caravan. Mr LH did at least choose the cheaper one. We will also get a new to us car asap as the rust is starting to take over on our existing one. Well it is over 30 years old. The caravan will be useful when the kitchen is done so that is my consolation.

I spent a lot of the morning shifting plant pots and my mini greenhouse to make room for the caravan. I am not happy that I am losing a fair bit of the garden but at least I have managed to get all the pots in the much smaller space. They are not well arranged  but will do for now.

We have also done a tip run, again to make space for the caravan but it needed doing anyway. I think there will be a lot of tip visits in the next year. Hopefull Mr LH will get rid of some stuff. He has made a start putting up shelves is the garage. The first one is up . I am not sure how many he is planning.

In the last couple of days I have done 4 loads of washing. Drying it al is the problem but the last load is hung and drying. Then I will have a pile of ironing, Goody I cant wait - can you hear the sarcasm.

Not sleeping too well at the moment but no idea why. It will no doubt sort itself out soon.

Time for my walk so will end here. Have a good evening.
