Evening allStill not a lot happening. Usual houseworky things which I try to avoid whenever possible. The advantage of all Mr LHs stuff is it prevents a certain amount of cleaning. Very disappointing - not.I have come across a problem with a winter coat. I wanted a mid calf black one without a tie belt but black coats seem to be completely out of fashion. Tie belts will do me no favour as I look like a sack tied in the middle with them. I will persist but I think I will have to compromise to a navy one.Mr LH has been talking about getting work done on our every day car (it is needed) or getting another one and a folding caravan. I really dont want the caravan as it will be used very litle and take up space in our small garden. I thought I had talked him out of it but apparently not. The existing car is very practical for us but I will see what he comes up with.I have had several bites on my hand which I think are spider bites. Very painful and I dont recommend them to anyone. They are almost invisible now but I have a burn on the other hand. I caught it on the grill element trying to retrieve a bowl which had gone to the back of the grill while I was warming it.I have continued the walks even thhough the cold and rain. They have been cut short sometimes but that is more to do with me not the weather
I am enjoying seeing the Christmas lights appearing on peoples houses whem I do my evening walk.I hope all have a good evening and peaceful week with no calamities.3 -
Those bites sound awful! I got bit by a spider in NZ but on my big toe. It wasn't too painful, but it left a keloid scar. I hope the pain eases quickly.Debts 04/01/25 04/05/26

AllSaints have a classy coat without tiebelt but it's £279, goes to size 16, I don't know what size you are but I'd usually go a size up for a winter coat so if you're over 14 maybe leave this one as you'd want to comfortably get a winter jumper on too, though maybe not if you don't feel the cold much!

Thanks PIP but my size is somewhat larger than 16. That is another problem I have come across. Many companies stop at 16 or 18. Very irritating.2

Have you tried B*den @ladyholly? Some of it is pricey but good quality, lasts for years. Love Humdinger xx2

Well done on the walking and hope the bites clear up soon.

Evening allThank you for the suggestions for coats. I have settled for a Navy one from M&S. It was in the sale which is good. It isnt necessarily the one I really wanted bbut it will see me through this year and didnt cost as much as I thought I would pay. I live in hope that I might be slimmer next year and need a smaller size. Dreams are good.Sorry this will be short as I am due to go for this evenings walk.I seem to have lost the discussion about folding caravans as Mr LH is going to see one on Thursday and I cant imagine he wont want it. The main problem is the company is in Norfolk and as we are in Somerset it is a fair old journey especially for someone who doesnt drive a lot any more. He is going tomrrow and staying in a b & b over night. Yay Two days of peace. The snag is we go didnt go shopping today as he was sorting the car (always does major prep for a long trip) so I have to do it tomorrow which wouldnt be a problem except we have a parcel due tomorrow. Isnt it always the way. A very early morning I think to be in the sm before 8am.I have cleaned the bedroom today and while I have peace tomorrow I am going to clean the lounge carpet. It is looking pretty disgusting.Money moved around as needed. The bites are fine now and fading quite well. The burn isnt doing quite so well as I knocked it tonight and it looks a bit gunky. Not infected but I will put some suitable antiseptic cream and a plaster on it before bed so it doesnt rub on the bedclothes.
Have a good evening4 -

Are you sure Navy is your colour @ladyholly? My spidey senses are telling me you are more of a brown/ taupe person if you liked that white and black one. Some people always manage to look gorgeous anyway. My sister got her colour done which I thought was ridiculous but I think there's something to it as she does always look nice.
I got a new fleece to wear as a coat but I will try it on and send it back which is a big leap for me!
If Mr LH doesn't buy the caravan on the spot maybe sit down and try to talk to him about holidays. Would you rather go away to an airbnb once a year than have a week in a caravan park in Northumberland? I'll address the elephant in the room which is that you're afraid it's just going to rot on the drive.2
