Evening allAll went well with the puppy. He was as good as gold. His owners couldnt believe us when we said he had been good. They looked shattered so we were glad we could help as having the pup there as well would have been a nightmare for them. The carpet fitters turned up about at 8.20 instead of 9am which threw us a bit as the pup had only just arrived, I was trying to cook breakfast for Mr LH and we were about to move the hall stand. Mr LHs bacon was well done but he didnt complain. We have put most of the stuff that belongs in the hall back except most of the books which I can do slowly every time i go in and out of the bedroom.Nothing else to report as most of our time was spent with the pup making sure he was getting up to mischief. It is the first time we have dog sat for someone and it felt very different from having your own dog. We felt much more responsible for him. That my lot for tonight. Have a good halloween/ Sahmain.8

Evening allI am hoping that in the near future some of the garage contents will be back in the garage. The tool box is due tomorrow morning. As it is coming in the morning I will be taking delivery which entailed very detailed instruction on where to put it. This will involve me have to move my scooter further into the garage so it can go just inside. Then I cant use the scooter until MR LH has put the whhels on so it can be easily moved. I just hope he isnt planning on it staying in front of the scooter as I use it almost every day and despite wheels it will be heavy to move once its filled up. Further discussions will be needed. Most of the books are back in the right place and almost everything that belongs in the hall is there. One problem is the carpet fitters had to remove a cupboard door as the hinges had dropped. No problem just put it back on. No not that simple. The hinges had beed put into the door using rawl plugs and glued? Far to tightin the holes so the wood has major splits in it. Too big to repair so a new door is now on order and of course it was a pricey one to match the others. One bit of shopping from home. I brought some small plastic boxes from my bils and couldnt find a use for them at the time but I have now. They are holding all the spare rolls of packing tape which usually fall to the bottom os the antique box I keep all the packjing stuff in.Ironing done at last, bed changed, Mondays shopping done today so I can be home for the tool box delivery.I have had another bill from the solicitor. Does they ever end?A visitor last night and another today for short visits which was nice.Thats about it I think. Have a good evening,7

Glad you are getting through your list but.......eh, no to the tool box going in front of your scooter. When the men arrive please move your scooter out the garage, get the tool box in, then scooter in front. You can then continue to use your scooter each day and when mr lh gets the wheels on you can sort out whats going where. Its not entirely sensible to put the thing that can't be moved as it has no wheels in front of the thing that can be moved as it has wheels!
These tool boxes are very heavy if its the one like mr d has. And yes the wheels are great but, on their own or especially with tools inside, they are not easily manoeuvred. They certainly aren't designed to keep moving about to get stuff passed in a domestic garage. Please please do not put it in front of your scooter despite these detailed instructions. You will be left with no scooter to do your own thing and mr lh won't be getting up early to drive you places. I worry you will lose your independence for weeks.

Evening allI sshould have said it is purely temporary that the tool box is blocking the scooter. It has wheels or at least it will have very soon. It was supposed to arrive before 1pm but actually arrived well after 4pm by which time it was getting dark and although the garage has lighting it was a bit late to start pulling it about to properly unpack it as we will need space. I can probably fiddle the scooter out but wouldnt be able to get it away. Unfortunately there is nowhere else to put it without the big car blocking it in or parking in next doors space which they would object to strangely enough. Mr LH knows how important the scooter is and checked with me that I didnt need it tomorrow morning. I will be going out but using the bus and a taxi home.Mr LH has put the mirror up in the hallway at last and I have moved some more bits and pieces into the new hall stand and finally getting all the books back where they belong. I had an email from the chippy doing the cupboard door and unfortunately it wont be done until 3rd September. It is so hard to get trades people here in a short time which is why thw kitchen isnt being started until after Christmas. We ordered a runner to protect the hallway carpet but although I paid by paypal as I often do they have put a pending note on it so I am going to have to ring the company in the morning to see if I can pay over the phone or whether I have to re order it. and cancel the paypal payment as they give no indication of how long they will take to sort it out. I know they have procedures to follow but there should be some indication of a time scale. I have just spent 20minutes trying to cancel the payment following their instruction but there is no cancel button. I am not sure how to get round that. I suppose I will have to try and ring them which will probably waste half my day. Not happy.Having said that I hope you have a good evening.6

Evening allAn earlyish morning shop with a taxi home. I couldnt have got it all on the scooter even if it had been accessible and although Mr LH asked if I wanted to go shopping I wanted to leave the time for him sorting out the tool box and moving it. It is now at the other end of the garage and he has made a small start on filling it. I just hope the enthusiasm doesnt run out. He has however found 3 lots of secateurs from my bil so that is a useful find for me.I have to say very little else done as I didnt want to start anything and him shout for help. Strangely he didnt.Today I have moved the door that is to be replaced from the conservatory to the garden as it was in the way plus several other annoying jobs.Money wise have sorted out my monthly saver which had come to an end . A new one is set up with a reasonable interest rate.I think I have mentioned before that I have sheets and blankets on my bed. 2 of the blankets were wedding presents over 50 years ago and one of them had been largely destoyed by one of the dogs although I have kept it going for several years. Today I have ordered a new pure wool one. It wasnt cheap but assuming it lasts as long as my last wedding present one it will see me out. I am looking forward to getting it and seeing how warm it is.On Foxgloves diary I mentioned I would love a Scottish Widows type cape and have been encouraged to get one. I am still not sure. Firstly I am not sure when I would wear it. A long cape at the theatre would be a pain to store during the show. I usually ram my coat under the seat. It seems a bit pretentious for a trip to the sm especially as I would want it to be a velevet one and living on the west coast it frequently rather windy here. I could end up lookind like dracula. I must admit I have had a quick look at dressmakers locally but they largely seem to repair rather than make. More thought is needed I think. On that note I will finish and say have a good evening.7

I’ve seen people at the ballet wearing a cape. Although it doesn’t solve where you’d store one. It would be no good where I live with it being so high up and windy, anyone in a cape would probably take flight 🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2
