I'm so pleased your inheritance has landed! Decorating sounds like it's going well too."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1

Evening allThe hall, stairs and landing are all finished except for putting the door handles back on. Mr LH is going to do that and wonder of wonders we are going to look at carpets tomorrow. I think it has finally dawned on him how bad the existing one is. We are very pleased with the way it looks. I will start to put things back tomorrow morning and then I can do some washing. I cant at the moment as the space where I put the airer is occupied by "stuff".Not been out, no money spent except on ordering a new bannister. The old one was basically a plank of wood screwed to wooden blocks and the wall. I dont know what the new one looks like as I left it to Mr LH. In the meantime getting up and more so downstairs is a litlle challenging but I havent had to resort coming down on my bottom yet.Nothing else as the decorator has been been blocking access to most of the house all day. No I am not complaining.Have a good evening.6

My neighbour has put bannisters on both sides of his stairs now as his wife is unsteady at times.3

You may have already looked into this, but could it be worth contacting a myasthenia specialist nearest you or accessible to you, and asking about private consultations to talk about your situation and needs?

Evening allI have just realised it is several days since I posted so what have I been up to. The answer is not a lot. 6 loads of washing done, dried and I have ironed what needed ironing. Usual tidying, cleaning etc.We have chosen a new carpet and they came to measure up today. We have to wait until the end of the month for fitting. Mr LH is putting up the new bannister hampered by the fact our wall has very tough bricks. He has really struggled and so far we only have one section of three. It was only delivered yesterday afternoon so couldnt do anything then. Hopefully another section tomorrow. All the door handles are back on. Mr LH only seemed to be capable of 2 or three a day so it took a few days.I have put one or two bits back in the hallway and on the landing but as they have to be moved again in a couple of weeks its not worth moving all of it. I have just moved what I needed to to make space for the airer to dry the washing.Blood test this morning and for once the nurse found my vein at the first go and my blood flowed really well so a very fast visit. It is a bit bruised but thats not a problem.I picked a strawberry from the garden at the weekend.Very angry with myself as I have ruined a new jumper by machine washing it rather than doing it by hand. If anyone wants a very small felted jumper let me know. I have bought a few new clothes for both of us and thought I had checked all the labels but I must have missed that one. It is/qwas 100% wool and obvously not the washable type.
I have kept upwith my two walks a day. Only 15 - 20 minutes each time mainly but occasionally I have to cut them a bit shorter due to weakness, breathing or pain or a combination of the three.I think thats all for my exciting life. Have a good evening.5 -

Sounds like you are making real progress with the house, albeit at Mr LH's pace! You won't know yourself when you have your new carpet. I recently had some painting done and it has made such a difference - it sounds silly but I find myself just looking at it and admiring how it looks!3

Well done on the walking. That's a shame about the jumper."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0
