Actually the 2 POAs are more important than wills are & you can DIY.  You have no idea the chaos a hospital can cause without one.  They were going to ship my mother into rehab for 6 weeks & not tell us where she was going & wouldn't take our word about the POA.  We had been there at least 2 visitors a day for almost 2 weeks!

Remember when my inheritance went into my bank account when my Dad passed away. I just sat there staring at my account on the banking app. It’s lovely and strange to have so much money but it was money I didn’t want due to the circumstances of how I got it.

badmemory From past experience hospitals never believe relative. Many years ago they denied having my mums advance directive and went ahead giving her antibiotics after a major stroke which she was never going to recover from. My sister and I were together when we gave it to them so I had a witness. Thank goodness for a sensible junior doctor. Nuts to the consultant who ordered them and then disappeared for the weekend.

Evening all

All is going well with the decorating. The wallpaper has been stripped and the woodwork sanded, primed and undrcoated. The ceiling has been painted. Gloss going on tomorrow and then wallpaper. Getiing up and downstairs is a bit precarious as the banister has been removed but I am coping. He has removed all the door handles but that is giving me the oppurtunity to clean them up as they are all brass. The downstairs ones are done but I still have to do the ones from upstairs.

Finding a coat is a bit of a trial as they are all dumped in a heap in the conservatory. 

Gp appointment this afternoon as the surgery pharmacist rang to chat about my meds and was worried about my breathing. The surgery the gp was using was upstairs Deliberately) so I arrived panting like a steam train. At least it proved I am not exagerating. Thorough exam. Blood tests and heart trace ordered. He doesnt think its asthma but I dont think he ha a clue what it is. I am still convinced it is the myasthenia although the neuro denies it. 

Not much done as moving about the house wll disturb the decorator but I have given the fridge a good clean. I have a pile of washing that needs doing but I have nowhere to hang it as the bedroom is full of stuff that belongs on the landing.

My inheritance has arrived in my account so I need to start looking at what to do with it to get a decent interest rate.

Pleased to hear the inheritance money is safely in your account. Possibly best to put as much as you can in an ISA if you have allowance remaining for this tax year, what with all the reports the government is thinking to cut the future allowance

Yep, best sitting in one room with a good book keeping out their way, it will be quicker for the workies the least they are interrupted

Evening all

I have put in the maximum to my ISA already but need to look further when I have the chance.

 I have thought about a private consultation on my breathing but I am not sure what kind of specialist I need. If I am right I need a neurologist and if the gp is right it is a possible heart problem or it could simply be a weight problem. I will go for the blood test and heart trace in the meantime but I have a feeling both will show nothing as they did two years ago. It is very hard for any dr to make a diagnosis when all tests come back negative so I dont blame them. It is just frustrating. The other problem is that the standard treatment for myasthenia is the tablets I take and also steroids which I have refused on several occasions. Most people gain a lot of weight when on them and I cant afford to put that weight on as it will affect my arthritis. You cant win.

Gloss painting is all done. The only trouble is the rest of the house looks awful but it will all get done in time.  Wallpapering tomorrow and possibly Friday depending how he gets on. Going to see about carpet next week. The decorator has cut all the edges of the holey one so it has to be replaced now. He knew it was to be replaced but that has concentrated Mr LH's  mind very well. Hooray.

Hairdresser this morning for a trim and to collect the prescription the gp gave me yesterday. I will try the new inhaler tonight.

Had a Chinese from the sm for dinner as I cant get into the cupboard where the freezer is as there is no handle at the moment. 

The door handles are now all cleaned up and ready to go back on the doors tomorrow. They arent perfect but all look a lot better.

I should be able to start cleaning the stuff that belongs in the hallway etc tomorrow as it shouldnt affect the wallpapering. We will need a trip to the diy shop for some replacement things that need replacing. We will also get a curtain for the front door. I thik there will a fair bit of money going out but as we have done very little to the house over the years it does need it.
