    Evening all

Spent time yesterday sorting out Mr LHs wardrobe to see what he needs. He has complained his clothes are scruffy. As he lives in Jeans and ancient fleece jumpers with a shirt underneath i thought I haad better check what he has and hasnt got. Yes he needs long sleeved shirts but has plenty of jumpers and trousers. Could possibly do with a couple more pairs of Jeans but I havent actually inspected things for wear yet just to tidy so I could look at stuff properly so the list may change.

This morning I spent about an hour and a half loading the car to go to the tip ready to go this afternoon. There was a lot but most of the stuff that was stacked in the garden has gone. We will need another trip very soon as there is more to go but at least it looks tidier in the garden. As the council are starting a booking system at the tip I would prefer to do it before that starts as it is quite hard to pin Mr LH down and when I have to avoid any adverse weather as well booking could be problematic.

Bank account checked and money moved as needed.

The plants I ordered have been dispatched and will hopefully be here Friday or Saturday.

We still havent put the heating on except the one evening which I justified as testing it before winter.

Meds have been ordered  but as they are late, my fault as I kept forgetting I will run out of one before the new one are ready for collection. Fortunately only inconvenient rather than affecting my general health.

Thats it for now. Have a good evening.

Lots of progress made there LH, congratulations! It feels so good to get rid of things to the tip doesn't it, I always feel a bit lighter whenever I get rid of anything - and it will be good if you can get rid of the rest before the booking changes come into effect and the weather sets in.
  • Oh plants, very exciting! I didn’t think this was the time of year for plants but I guess some have to bed in over the winter perhaps.

Medication ordering is a pain! I was just taking my evening meds last night and I realised it was nearly time to order them yet again. I get 28 days of one and and 30 days of another so they are rarely in sync. I hope you are back to full stock soon.

When your tip introduces booking if it's anything like ours you can usually book on the day - it's what we usually do because who knows how you're going to feel a week next Wednesday for example!

I'm glad you got the tip run done and the garden is looking better. Mr LH and Mr SA must be on the same wavelength at the moment as Mr SA is also complaining all his clothes are scruffy and he has nothing to wear!

It was so much better when our tip made appointments after covid and I believe they still operate that way as it worked really well.   Same as joedenise you usually got an appointment within an hour or so so we used to book as we were loading the car.  It meant you didn't arrive and find a queue of 30 cars, you were in and out.  Very efficient.

I did look at our council website to see if there was any info about the booking system.Apparently you will be able book up to half an hour before going but there might not be availability so leaving it that late would be a risk. I can usually motivate Mr LH the day before so we will see. The appointments will be for 15 minutes which is a little worrying as it took us much longer yesterday as neither of us are fast on our feet and cant carry a lot at once. It is quite a long way from one end to the other of all the skips and we had stuff that went from end to end. I am hoping the men there are sympathetic to those who are slower. They are usually very good at the moment. There is no date for it starting yet so we will have to be patient.

I have to thank, on behalf of the local people, those people that do the national lottery. In our town there is an old unique  pier that badly needs restoration. It also used to house the lifeboat station and they were due to make a contribution to said restoration but due to their finances they are now unable to do so. This left the pier in a very precarios situation and the whole project would have been cancelled by the council last night but the national lottery have stepped in at the last moment to provide the extra funding. I just hope it can all go ahead now as this has been an ongoing saga for many years.

Anyone in the west country will probably guess where I am now.

Lots of bits and pieces done this morning just dont ask me what.

Shopping this afternoon. Mr LH was moaning the weather isnt conducive to using the MG but I pointed out it would fit anyway as we needed quite a lot. I was proved right when he saw the amount he agreed.

Nothing else for today so have a good evening.

    Great news about the pier!

With the booking systems, there are fewer people on site so the staff can normally help out more.  They won't boot you out after 15 minutes.
