I do get a taxi to the local theatre anyway because there is no bus but to the one in Bristol would be very expensive so I get the bus each way. I only go to matinees there as I don't like being out late at night for that particular walk from the bus stop.3

Evening allWe went into town on Saturday pm and Mr LH put the roof down on the car so much pleasure was had. I hurriedly grabbed a scarf before we went out but realised when i put it on it was silk so very slippery. It kept some of my hair in some sort of order but I need to see if I have one that doesn't slide so much. An Audrey Hepburn look with headscarf and sunglasses but they dont look as good on me unfortunately. We went for three things in tpwn but could only get one and then they wonder why people shop on line.Today Mr LH took the car out of the garage and it promptly started to rain so back in it went. I must admit I sis chuckle as I had just told him it looked like rain.
A parcel posted this morning and at least for the time being that is the end of ebay for me.Washing and ironing done in the most economical way possible over the weekend. Our friends with the puppy are moving at the end of October so we will have him for the day. I hope he will have stopped mouthing by then.I ordered my perfume as I found it with a 20% discount and it arrived today. It is far stronger than the remains of my old one so I will have to be soaring with it.The decorator came round and has provided a reasonable quote. Assuming we are happy with his work there will be more for him to do. He cant do it for about 8 weeks but thats ok as there is no particular rush. The next tradesman I need will be to re do the garden path and put in a step of some type. It is a long way down from the conservatory. At the moment the path is paving slabs with gaps of about six inches between them. This makes bringing heavy stuff in hard as we cant use a trolley so I want them reseated and extra ones putting in. I know this doesnt seem important but I tend to fall of the edges of the slabs for some reason. I have no no idea why it happens but with awful balance it will hopefully make the path safer for me.Annoyed with the solicitor as I emailed him last week and have heard nothing back so another email went this morning. The next one will be sent on Wednesday and be very sarcastic. Even an acknowledgement would be nice.Enough wittering for now. Have a good evening.6 -
Good news on the decorator. I totally get you on the slabs so that's a good idea to get them done soon.

Glad the decorator quote was reasonable, and sorting the slabs is definitely the right thing to do!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Evening allThank you for your glamour comments. They made this overweight, scruffy greying 70 something year old laugh. I would love to be glamorous but I think that boat sailed long ago.My new pillow and and bamboo pillow cases arrived today. The pillow cases are so silky I am really looking forward to trying them out. I am hoping the pillow will provide some relief to my arthritic neck.I have started to cut our vine back. Its not reslly the right time of year but our friends puupy was trying to eat the grapes on it. We dont do anything with the grapes as they are a wine variety but MR lH has long lost interested in making wine.Out this afternoon for the main shop but didnt spend very much so I am wondering what I have forgotten. The solicitor has replied at last but no sign of the estate being finally settled as he is "very busy". I am not happy but there isnt much I can do other than nag from time to time. If it goes on much longer I will be complaining to the managing partner. Dont you love the internet where such information is easily available.Have a good evening.7

Oh I love how you enjoyed the car ride with the roof down like a film star 😎 Mr SA once hired a soft top car for a weekend away as a surprise for me. We hadn’t got as far as the end of our road when I made him put the top back up because it was messing my hair up 🤣
I’m glad you’re getting some work done on the house that will make your life easier. I love having work done on the house, it might be costly and messy but so worth it in the end.
Boo to the solicitor dragging his expensive heels.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2
