Evening all3 parcels posted this morning and didnt spend anything else except a couple of pounds on books. I also sent back the form for premium bonds that the solicitor had sent me.I got home and found the pavement works have extended to right outside the house and up the path that I needed to come down. A long diversion squeezing past some very overgrown hedges but got here eventually. Then I found a sign diverting people past the back of our house to a path that is closed. I challenged the workman out the front but apparently they dont do the signs it is another company that puts them out. When I asked about the closed path he said the tarmac would be done today. I think it may have been but I havent been out the back since we came hom with Bear from the secure field and it wasnt done then. I will see when I take him out later. The last load of laundry put away.Bear had his usual fun time at the field and we were careful that Bear was well awy from Mr LHs knee as he is still walking with my walking stick when we are out.I have had a phone call from the estate agent and apparently they have booked in 4 viewings this week for my buyers so I am keeping my fingers, toes and anything else crossable crossed. They are only showing the house to people who can proceed which I assume means they have a buyer for their house. I just hope we dont end up with a long chain.I still havent got into the garden to do some pruning of branches that are overhanging the fence from next door. I have checked withthem and they are happy for me to do them. I also need to cut some bits off our vine as it is wrapping itself round my acer. Hopefully will get to them tomorrow.Finished my Ann Cleeves book. I havent started the next one so will have to see what I fancy from my small pile waiting to be read.Have a good evening.3

Fingers crossed for the viewings 🤞
If you have the energy, I feel like a Lady H sternly worded email (with your compo face on) to any and all parties involved in the roadworks debacle is needed! What a shambles diverting people to a closed path, let alone diverting you, an elderly woman requiring a mobility scooter, from your own home *is British and tuts loudly* 😁3 -

As I spend almost £80 pw I resent spending any more than that. They are a ridiculous price and the gp has told him he shouldnt stop due to mental health. Perhaps I should ask the gp to contribute.

It would certainly be cheaper. He is also allergic to patches and the lozenges cause tummy problems. He has tried at various times to give up but has yet to succeed.I can't really complain as I stuggle with my weight and have also not succeeded.

Evening allI have cut back the bits in the garden that needed cuttting back as far as I can reach.Usual bits and pieces done re cleaning and have hoovered before the dog hair takes over. I can literally pull out chunks of loose hair at the moment. The workmen for the paths havent turned up at all today so they have dug trenches and then abandoned loads of barriers. The gas workmen have move from the junction and are working theirway down the road so i can now do Bears usual walk. I am waiting for them to block the end of the path so I cant get through. Maybe they will miss that bit.We nearly had a disaster while out for a walk today. The arm rest on the scooter came off. Unfortunately Bear was attached to it. Luckily Mr LH saw it fall to the ground and put his foot on it which held the lead securely while he picked it up. I should say the arm rest is supposed to come off just not when in use. Mr LH replaced it and when we got home he adapted the fitting so it shouldnt happen again.Main shop done and well within budget. I will need to get a couple of things later in the week that I couldnt get today. Just an aside is anyone having trouble buying sardine in tins. Neither of the sm I use seem to have them. Bear has them once a week for his tea.I must end now as its time to take Bear out for his last walk.Hve a good evening and I hope your weather isnt too bad in the next couple of days.2

£80 pw on cigarettes, wow I didn’t realise they were so expensive now! Mr SA used to smoke a lot. His dad died of lung cancer at 66 that was definitely caused by smoking. This eventually led to Mr SA quitting. No cutting down he just stopped. He’s been smoke free for over 30 years now. Saved us a fortune over the years. I know it must be hard to break such a habit if you enjoy it. I’m just so glad I was never tempted to smoke despite all my friends, most boyfriends and parents smoking.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

My mum was diagnosed with a pre cancerous condition of the larynx when I was about 13. That concentrated my mind beautifully so I never even considered smoking for which I am very grateful. However I have lived with smokers all my life so I doubt my lungs are in great condition.1

Just had a look on the app for Mr T here - looks like lots of tinned sardines unavailable, the only ones that are available are in sauces that wouldn't be appropriate for dogs!
Hope the viewings go well."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
LzzyIsGod said:Ah sorry didn't mean to imply that vaping was the answer (I'm sure he's already thought of that!) More a comment on the difference in price between the 2!I realise that you didnt put that as answer. I am sorry if you took it as a criticism. The difference in price is because the tax on cigarettes is huge and gets bigger every year.
