Happy New Year.Poor Bear had a traumatic new years eve with fireworks starting at 5pm and going through on and off until about 1am. I thought there may be some more tonight but none heard so far. I tried to walk him at 9pm as usual (he really does like his routine) but we hadnt gone far when we heard fireworks so he came home.We had avery quiet evening and I didnt even have a drink, mr LH had one so the Cava is still in the fridge. I was going to cook a roast but it would have been a wate so saving it until Sunday. I had some bread and butter and Mr LH didnt have anything although we did have some smoked salmon mid afternoon. We were going to bed early but we didnt want to leave Bear so it was well past midnight to make sure things were quiet.Christmas is all packed and put back into the attic. The lounge dusted and hoovered to get up any bits of tree and tinsel afterwards.Council tax and water rates paid and money put into the various pots. I emptied my purse and put that into my cash tin which is saved for odd things that need cash or that I need but dont want to take it out of one of the pots.We had pork chops for dinner which were originally planned for a couple of days ago but we havent been eating much. The last of the Christams sweet stuff has been eaten so no more temptation. I will start the healthy eating plan tomorrow.I still have a sore throat but otherwise not too bad and Mr LH seems to be recovering as he has eaten properly tonight which is always a good sign. I am just hoping my throat doesnt turn into something.WI am not sure what I am doing tomorrow except getting some milk. Have a good evening.4

I started with a sore throat that disappeared then came back as a cold a couple of days later. Thankfully it’s not that bad.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Hope the throat doesn't come to anything."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1

Evening allMy throat is still a bit scratchy but as I have always had a lot of sore throats I am not bothered. I should have had my tonsils out when I was about 5 but we moved and they never caught up with me. Its a bit late now.Out to buy milk and also got a pair of shoes reduced to £5.40 from £18.00 so couldn't really say no. I also bought my shower gel at 50p off and also got 50p off some butter which will cover us for next week and hopefully the week after. All in all a successful trip. I was going to call in at Home Bargains but decided to give it a miss as there is nothing I really need so avoided temptation.I weighed myself today for the first time in a while. As I expected not good news but will track it in my shiny new diary which cost a £ some weeks ago. I also filled in the calendar with birthdays etc. I will need to add the rubbish collections from April as we are going to 3 weekly collections for non recyclables. The recyclables will remain weekly. I will alkso add garden collection as since they changed the day I never remember them as they are different to everything else. I will also add insurance etc renewal dates. The car goes for its MOT next Monday so keeping my fingers crossed. I do have a car pot and hope there is enough in it for anything that needs doing. The car is quite old so things do go wrong. It was very cold out with Bear this morning and I would think tonight as well when we go out later. Lunchtime was ok when well wrapped up. Mr LH has been giving me advice about walking when its frosty as though I have never done it before in my 71 years.I was in trouble as when he went to the freezer last night he found the door was slightly open. If I just push it shut without checking it it has a tendacy to bounce open which is what must have happenedd. Fortunately he found it before we lost anything but I did get a lecture on checking it. He, of course, never makes a mistake.Have a good evening.4

Evening allIroning done today and in the MSE way I unplugged the iron to do the last item. It would have been a NSD but Mr LH went out for some fuel and a run down the motorway as part of his prep for the MOT. I will no doubt have to go outside and check his lights and indicators before then.Other than that a pottering kind of day so nothing really achieved.so I will just say have a peaceful evening.4

I had a scratchy throat but it didn’t amount to much so hope yours doesn’t too. Mr SA tries to give me advice about walking in frosty weather too. He is also never wrong just like Mr LA, they could be twins 😐🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Sun_Addict I have often thought that with some of your tales of MR SA and he doesnt even have an ABI.Evening AllNot much to report to today. I have had my first e bay sale of the year which has been posted. While I was out getting very cold I bought Bear a new lick mat as his is looking rather nasty. Although it's scrubbed every time it's used they still seem to get mouldy after a while. I might try putting the old one in the dishwasher. Its not supposed to go in but as I will throw it out otherwise its worth a try.A load of washing done and hung up. It will no doubt take a couple of days to dry but I will swap things around as the lighter items dry faster. It is snowing very wet snow but it wont last. Snow is quite rare here being on the coast so nice for the novelty.Have a good evening. Stay warm and safe.

We have snow forecast for later tonight and apparently it will be gone by the morning. I had to smile when they said if you’re someone who goes to bed early you’ll miss it - that will be me then 🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

We’re due snow overnight then the rest of the day is rain so hopefully that will wash any snow away. Not a great lover of snow unless I don’t have to go out. X:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.002
