Hope you are enjoying Christmas. Good to hear you've got a new scooter!2

Evening allI hope everyone has had agood Christmas. As there are just the two of us it tends to be a fairly normal dayy but with better food. We had roast duck and that was really nice and did us today as well.I have had some lovely gifts including the latest Richard Osman from my dd which I nearly bought when it came out but decided to wait for the pb. Now i dont need to.I used the new scooter for the first time yesterday and it is good. I must confess to being very naughty and tested the 8mph today on the pavement having made sure there was no one about and there was nowhere someone could suddenly appear from. . It went really well but obviously will only use it at 4mph in future. It just had to be done once.I did go to Sainsbury today as planned but didnt get anything except a half price frying to replace the one the non stick coating is coming off.Off to the panto tomorrow with dgds so looking forward to that. Eldest dgd is picking me up so no taxi needed.Have a good evening.3

Glad the new scooter is good. Enjoy the panto, hope it’s much better than the one we went to.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1 -
The star of the panto is Melanie Walters who I believe was in Gavin and Stacey. We only watch very old stuff and documentaries with one or two rare exceptions. Guess who has the remote.
I do get to see some things on the computer but don't really get that much spare time on it. I am working my way through Strike at the moment and am on the last episode before the current series.2 -

I love Strike too. Hope you enjoyed the panto, and I'll be interested to hear what you think of the Richard Osman book, as I'm tempted to get it."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Another one who loves Strike. I read the books and think the tv adaptation does a really good job. I'm waiting for the next book as the last ones The Running Grave, finished on a great cliffhanger.Glad you are pleased with the scooter and have done a full throttle test drive.1

Thank you all. Good Evening.4 parcels posted today. It was lovely there was no queue in the PO. Then to Sainsbury for milk and onto the £ shop to get some packing stuff.Mr LH is not well so has retired to bed this evening. He has had a cold hovering about for about a week now so has slept for much of Christmas. The panto was ok.Not the best one but the dgds enjoyed it and told me to just go ahead and book next years when it suits me and the younger one will request the time off from work. It always has to be between Christmas and New Year as the older one is off work then. They have requested a matinee next year as the older one is now living further away and to head home after the show makes it a late night. They dont make youngsters like they used to. I was a student nursery nurse working in a residential nursery whhen I was young. We had to be in by 11pm at the weekend but over Christmas we were allowed out until 2am and still had to be up ready for work at 7am. Mind by the end we needed matchsticks to hold our eyes open.Credit card paid today and I have paid for my scooter as well so it is now all mine.Nothing else to report except for various reasons savings are well down so I am going to have to be very frugal to buld them up again.Off to watch part of the first episode of the latest Strike series before taking Bear out. He is already nagging me but needs to wait about 45 minutes.Have a good evening.4

@ladyholly - Snap! I mean with regards to needing a frugal year to build up savings. Our general savings are stable but our Savings Pots need some serious work, hence our 2025 financial challenge which we will be properly setting out when we have our annual money meeting next week. So you won't be alone in working on restoring savings.....we will be there too, trying to be extra resourceful so as to get those pots in much better shape.
We can do it!
F2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
2) To read 100 books (36/100) 3) The Shrinking of Foxgloves 6.8kg/30kg
