Well done on the scooter being all yours, definitely worth the spend. Glad you and the dgds enjoyed the panto and they want to do it again next year, even if they are lightweights compared to you 😁3

Evening all
It looks like its going to be a frugal year. In my case until I receive my inheritance because there is a lot of work needed in the house. We havent been able to do much since we moved in about 20 years ago. We will start with having some rewiring and new windows and carry on from there. Of course this all depends on Southern Waters rising drain or we may need to start the whole selling again as they need so much of the garden for access. I am just keeping my fingers crossed.Nothing special done today and no money spent which is good.Mr LH is still not brilliant so I took Bear out on my own and then I was about half way round his walk and Mr LH appeared. I really dont know why I bother sometimes. We had ostrich steaks for dinner which were quite tasty and thanks to my amazing culinary skills (dumb luck) were cooked to perfection. We have had them once before but it was a long while ago. It isnt the kind of thing we can buy round here in general.I have finished watching Strike which is why nothing else has been done. Thoroughly enjoyed it and can reccommend to anyone who hasnt watched them and likes that genre. I keep looking for the books in the charity shops but i have only ever found one.My Dgds gave me a book token for Christmas so I wil have a look when I can get into town but there are so many books out there that I would like to read. If there was no Mr LH the house would be empty of most of the ornaments and other stuff and filled with full bookcases.Have a peaceful evening.7 -

Hospital appointment for hip x ray at 8.50 so an early taxi in case of traffic. In the event it was very quiet so got there about 8.35. They called me in early so was home about 9am.
I did a bit of path and gravel weeding before the weather deteriorates. Then dusted the lounge.
A friend called briefly to thank us for their Christmas present.
I will do some money stuff later to pay the council tax and water.
I don't do N.Y. resolutions but I really want to get back to losing weight which all came to a halt when bil died. Hopefully his estate will be settled soon and then we can start some work on the house.
At the moment I don't have much enthusiasm for anything as I think I am getting Mr LHs lurgy. He is still quite poorly and somewhat bad tempered. I am achy, sniffly and shivery. Hopefully it won't develop into anything worse.
Any way a very Happy New Year to all and I hope 2025 brings you all the things you want.

I too feel like I have been brewing a lurgy, but it is over 2 weeks now & my lungs feel like they are in a straight jacket. Whatever it is never seems to actually "come out". It feels like either a very bad cold or even bronchitis on its way but it never actually arrives.
